Honestly, I'm hoping for an X-men reboot. Change the cast (but keep patrick stewart as xavier) and the tone of the movie into a more serious tone. I'm looking somewhat forward to X-men First Class, as I am hoping that it will be the beginning of a real X-men series of movies. 2 was the best out of the 3, but all 3 could have been handled far much better.

Im not excited about this reboot, i loved raimi's version, cept 3 of course, but maybe with this new director we can get Zooey Deschannel as Mary Jane, she is hot, i would watch it just for her
  • I think every sequel of every superhero movie should show us the origin again and again because we have short attention sp.... SQUIRREL!

Entertainment Weekly says that Peter Parker will already have his powers at the start of the new film. Maybe it's just an assumption but that's what they said.
I don't think they should change the origin story if they include it, but I do have to say Spider-Man's origin story is not my favorite. It's kind of unrealistic even in a comic book universe. Why would the spider inject it's (radioactive) DNA into Peter? Spider bites inject venom.

Well it was a radioactive spider not an ordinary spider....but not 100% of the information has to make sense, thats y itz fictional. But anyway im 100% down for a reboot because they really didnt dig deep into his life, the movies just surrounded him and mary jane. If the movie is like the new spiderman cartoon than ill see it twice because the cartoon covers everything.

Why can't kevin Fiege and Stan Lee just be honest and stop brown nosing these assho78s at Sony, they don't need to. Sony already has done an ok job at bringing Spidey to life but could have done better. Most people DO NOT WANT TO SEE AN ORIGIN ALL OVER AGAIN!! Just continue where Raimi left off but with a new cast and director into a different direction. There is no need to totally reboot this franchise. Or is that Sony is trying just tighten their grasp on Spider-Man for another decade. I'm tired of Sony and I'm tired of FOX.

To all the bright sparks at Sony - A total reboot doesn't mean we want to see another origin story with Peter Parker in High School.

I don't know I'm all that keen on an "Ultimate Spiderman' adaptation, if that's the direction they're going to take.

I would much rather see adaptations from the longest running title "Amazing Spiderman".

I'm sure Marc Webb will do a great job regardless. I'm just not 100% confident with Sony.

Sick and tired of Sony and Fox? You betcha!

Sony knows that Spiderman is bank so they will hold onto the franchise as long as they can and that's why they are rebooting the spideyverse so soon. They don't care whether people like the movies or not because millions and millions of teenagers and kids will go see it.
  • HG 1
If that's their angle, it's aoor business choice. if want to sell this movie at he box office, stop making the kids your target demo. Adults make up the majority of marvel's fans, yet they keep aiming the movies toward the 12 to 14 year old crowd because, oddly enough, they (the studios) actually believe that the comics are for the youngins' simply because they are made up bright colors, and look sort of cartoony panel to panel.

I don't think they have done any real demographical research here. If this is case it is probably because the studios think that just because they have been making movies for decades, that must mean no one, not even marvel, can tell them how to make a movie. But someone needs to inform them that the superhero fan base or any other movie based on any comic, has a huge following, and it's fans will not support a film based on their character if it does not follow the true source. They are forecasting "good fortune" for themselves based on the first time appeal of the characters being on the big screen. That is a giant mistake. If they cared about the true fans then they will listen to the fans. Nevertheless, until they listen to Stan and the crew the studios are foregoing millions of dollars in extra revenue.

I am totally against putting Pete back in highschool. Instead, they should start off where Raimi left off, but have the Sandman as the main and only villain, since 3 was not that great. The Sandman did not have to share the spotlight with Venom. Then save Venom for Spidey 7 or 8. Introduce all of Spiderman's main enemies first, as Venom was really the last out of spidey's archenemies.

To both SONY AND FOX, I'll say it again...if I spent 130 million to make a movie, and forecast 300 million in revenue, why would I settle for the 300 when I strongly believe I can make 500 miilion if I make the movie more adult oriented?

It's been two whole years since Iron Man... where's the announcement for the reboot with an all teenage cast? I mean, surely the guy who directed 'Adam' needs to sell out with an utterly unnecessary reboot too.

Wow another trilogy, Sony is a mess.
