2015 International Comic-Con attendees will get a chance to get some more insight into the biggest upcoming movies, including Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The biggest Hall H panel of them all may belong to Warner Bros., though, as this could be the year that the studio really takes Comic-Con by storm.
As previously announced, WB’s Hall H panel will be on Saturday, July 11 from 10:30am – 12:00pm and will feature a “a ‘sneak peek’ at a few upcoming releases from Warner Bros.” No other official details have been revealed as of yet, but one would assume the production company is going to feature many of their high-profile projects, including several films from the DC movie universe.
A new report from Deadline confirms DC and WB’s upcoming film, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, will be a big part of their Hall H presentation. Last year, the first footage from the film was presented, along with director Zack Snyder, Batman actor Ben Affleck, Superman actor Henry Cavill, and Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot all making a brief appearance together as well. Like last year, they will also be attending WB’s Hall H panel again, but this time they won’t be alone.
A few of their fellow castmates, including Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter will also be at the panel to help show off Batman v Superman. Eisenberg had previously revealed he will be at the presentation, saying he expects to be there for a full hour. While that may seem like an extra-long time to show off one single movie at Comic-Con, there is also the possibility that Eisenberg could be sticking around to reveal some of DC’s other upcoming movies as well.
Speaking of which, the aforementioned report also mentions that Suicide Squad (the upcoming villain-centric film from director David Ayer), and Justice League Part One are expected to be a big part of WB’s SDCC 2015 presentation too. The first sizzle reel from Suicide Squad was shown off a few weeks ago, and it seems likely WB may show some form of that at Comic-Con as well. As for Justice League, many have already speculated that the core team may be brought together on-stage for the first time, with the Green Lantern casting announcement finally being made. It remains to be seen whether that actually happens or not, but consider it a strong possibility.
With Marvel Studios not attending Comic-Con this year, DC and Warner Bros. have a real opportunity to make a big impression on the comic book community with their upcoming slate of films. Even some new footage from both Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad would likely appease the audience, but some confirmations and official reveals would also be welcome. With so much speculation on who the big villain in Batman v Superman might be, maybe it’s time for WB to finally put those rumors to rest?
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017;The Flash on March 23, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern on June 19, 2020.
