We're now about four and a half months away from the 2014 International Comic-Con, when thousands upon thousands of geeks (us included) will swarm San Diego for a celebration of all things in nerd pop culture that you can imagine - including, movies, TV shows, comic books, and the plethora of merchandise that are available for the many genre properties (superhero, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, etc.) that belong to those mediums.

This year will be a little different, however, as far as purchasing tickets to the event goes. Comic-Con is only selling single-day passes to the festivities this year (read about it on the official SDCC blog), unlike in the past when multi-day passes were made available for buying. Presumably, the idea is that this change in operations will (among other things) make the open registration process for the 2014 'Con - which begins later this week - a little calmer than usual; how effective that seemingly-sound strategy will be in action, well, that's always the trick, isn't it?

Open Online Registration for the 2014 International Comic-Con will begin at 9:00 A.M. Pacific Time (PT) this week on Saturday, March 15th. The EPIC Registration landing page will be open at 7:00 A.M. (PT) that day, at which time those who are planning to attend can ender their personal registration code and authorize their electronic device of choice to enter the (virtual) waiting room. You personal registration code and link to the landing page will be emailed to you at least 24 hours ahead of open registration, though you can also access your code by logging into your Member ID account and clicking on the "Registration Info" tab.

Keep in mind, you must authorize your registration code prior to 9:00 A.M. (PT) on March 15th, 2014, since the EPIC Registration waiting room will close thereafter.

At this point, it probably goes without saying that there will be far, far more people that are going to be attempting to buy a badge for the 2014 International Comic-Con - during Open Online Registration - than there will be actual badges available. So, best to make sure you have all your personal information and details together and ready to go, so that you have a fighting chance once the process begins.

Those who are new to the Open Online Registration process can find more information (and instructions) over at the official International Comic-Con Badges Sale page. You can also check out the Official Comic-Con blog's page on "Surviving Open Online Registration," to help get you standing on more solid ground.
