The 2014 International Comic-Con in San Diego will get underway in just a couple weeks - and today, Warner Bros. unveiled its Hall H lineup for the event. Back at the 2013 'Con, the studio make a huge splash in Hall H, where it officially announced the project now known as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Our hope is that this year, WB will drop an even bigger mega-bomb, in the form of a major update on its budding DC Shared Cinematic Universe - in fact, that is THE thing that we hope to see at the 2014 Comic-Con.

But, of course, if the rumors about what WB and DC have planned are on the right trail, then those plans are definitely being saved for a "surprise" announcement at the conclusion of the studios' Hall H presentation, similar to what happened with Batman V Superman back in 2013.

The official (read: announced ahead of time) Hall H lineup for WB therefore contains no mention of DC movie news - not even Zack Snyder's pre-Justice League movie (a.k.a. Batman V Superman), which is only part-way into filming and won't arrive until May 2016 anyway. (That doesn't rule out the possibility of a teaser being shown, of course...)

WB's SDCC 2014 Hall H presentation, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26th, is confirmed to include The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Mad Max: Fury Road, and the recently-delayed Jupiter Ascending. In addition, WB's natural disaster thriller Into the Storm (which opens in theaters this August) will be screened for attendees on Wednesday July 23rd at 10 p.m. at the Reading Gaslamp Theater.

The Hobbit 3 titled The Battle of the Five Armies

Hobbit trilogy director Peter Jackson will be in attendance to present The Battle of the Five Armies, after having been forced to pass on presenting the second installment, The Desolation of Smaug, at the 2013 'Con due to his Hobbit production commitments. As mentioned in our Comic-Con 2014 preview, Battle of the Five Armies could well be the final Middle-earth adventure that we get to have in the foreseeable future; not to mention, (probably) the last trip we take with Jackson as our guide.

Indeed, seeing how the film will serve as the culmination of more than a decade of Jackson bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy literature to life with the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, we hope that Battle of the Five Armies gets its proper due during WB's Hall H panel - and that the film's presentation ends up being something quite special.

Tom Hardy as Max in 'Mad Max Fury Road'

Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller will also be there to present his new Mad Max film, but it remains to be seen if any of the Fury Road cast members (Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, etc.) will make an appearance along with Miller. We recently got our first look at the delayed post-apocalyptic adventure via official still frames, but it's likely that the Fury Road portion of WB's Hall H panel will include some actual footage from the film - possibly, in the form of an official teaser trailer, which will then be released online sometime closer to the end of this year.

Mila Kunis in Jupiter Ascending

Lastly, Andy and Lana Wachowski will attend WB's Hall H panel to promote their new sci-fi blockbuster, Jupiter Ascending; additional panel guests will be announced at a later time. (Lead Mila Kunis previously attended the 'Con to promote Oz the Great and Powerful, so she could well show up again for Jupiter.) Admittedly, of the announced titles for WB's presentation this year, the Wachowskis' movie is bound to generate the least excitement, just because so many trailers and promotions had already been released for the film before it was pushed back to 2015.

... On the other hand, if the Jupiter Ascending footage shown at Comic-Con manages to leave a strong impression on attendees, it'll help to counter some of the negative buzz that's been surrounding the movie, following its last-minute postponement.

Stay tuned for more updates on what to expect at the 2014 International Comic-Con, in the weeks ahead!
