  1. Why is that pic from big fat liar there?

    • Spoilers!

  2. i drove an hour and a half to the nearest theater to see Pacific Rim this past weekend. When i got there, the movie was “broken” and had to see something else instead.

Now i have to wait two weeks until i get another day off to see it. I’ll probably double feature with “Wolverine”.

  3. GL podcast anywhere, anywhere?

    • I only said I was editing it this week ;) It’ll be sent to the BoB winners in two weeks. Then, I’ll link it for everyone else in the near future!

      • Awesome. Can’t wait to hear Kofi threaten the lives of everyone possible for that movie. ;)

      • Two weeks? I’m going through withdrawals already.

      • I don’t think you should edit it at all…you should just put it out there in it’s RAW, complete form. Let’s see then if the podcast world can handle it. After all, #SRUnderground does have an “Explicit” rating on itunes. I would love to hear it uncut!

  4. I hope DC announces at least one new thing, maybe Flash or Wonder Woman. As for Man of Steel 2, I think it will be called Man of Tomorrow. New Geoff Johns Aquaman would make for a epic superhero movie. It could totally work. Aquaman kicks ass.

I love Pacific Rim because I am a big fan of this specific genre but I totally understand the problems of the characters, plot, dialogue and everything. I hope a sequel is made so they can further explore this world and I want more movies like this.

Oh, and I’d like to congratulate you guys for doing an awesome job with making a very entertaining podcast week to week and here’s hoping for a great 100 more!!!

  5. Congrats on 100 episodes guys. I really love listening to this podcast every week. It’s very entertaining and informative and always leads to a great discussion here in the comments. Here’s to the next hundred!

    • TOTALLY AGREE… HAPPY 100… Best movie podcast anywhere, and SR is GREAT. You guys are the best

    • Thanks!!

  6. It has to be ww cause justice league is to early and flash is a maybe. Pacific rim was so awesome it has to be seen in imax 3d to get the full experience. Congrats on 100 eps!! i started listening around ep 80ish kinda wish i had listened before since i have been on this site for ever now ha

  7. Apparently Guillermo del Toro had to cut an hour of footage out of this movie……. ALL character development, and it shows.

  8. i’m assuming you were joking about rob thomas being the same one from matchbox 20. it’s not the same one.

    • He was absolutely kidding. Even joked afterward about whether or not someone would call him out on it because he never said he was joking ;)

    • Isn’t Rob Thomas the brother of Dave Thomas? Not the Dave Thomas from Strange Brew, the founder of Wendy’s.

  9. I guess I’m excited obviously to hear Marvel because they will actually announce things and I do think that they wont announce too many Phase 3 things, it’s almost looks to far ahead instead of focusing on Phase 2.

X-Men DOFP should be an interesting panel because I’m curious to hear what the X-Men DOFP will actually encompass as a story and what are future plans X-Force, Deadpool, etc.

I give up on WB’s just announce the MOS sequel I’ve given up on them having any real plan. They had the GUTS to make this $190 million RockEm SockEm Robot Monster movie mash-up but they don’t have the GUTS to make a Justice League or Wonder Woman movie. At least try a Wonder Woman movie she could be the 1st female protagonist to sell she might be the only one that could open the door for female superheroes. Just rip off some stuff from Thor, Game of Thrones, & Zena Warrior Princess and you could have yourself a pretty decent flick.

I enjoyed the movie from an aesthetical perspective and because its different from whats going on to this summer but it almost promise more then it could deliver. Del Toro does great visual work but it seems that at least story wise he’s run out of things from Pan’s Labryinth. Maybe if he could work with a great screenwriter that could help fill the gaps he has.

The forgotten rip-off from Independence Day is the Human to Alien mind meld.

  10. lol @ Fetch!

  11. DC better step up their A-game. With Disnified Marvel movies and tv shows coming out, I want a comic book movie franchise that will take characters like Batman, Superman and WW to the next level. I get the feeling that Marvel is planning on making all their upcoming movies family-friendly, popcorn fare. It’s not the type of risk taking filmmaking that really made MOS stand out to me despite all its flaws.

As for Pacific Rim, I actually really liked it. I’m surprised that y’all though so negatively of it since Del Torro is known for being a more conceptual film maker rather than focusing on the details of a real world live-action blockbuster. Kofi was right in that it did have an anime-esque feel by focusing on the core principles presented in anime and the flashy visuals, but the constant exposition from characters was confusing. Each of you presented legit drawbacks, but I’m still hoping for a sequel that will establish the main characters more and give greater scope to the concept of drifting and alternate dimensions.

  12. I really don’t care for Marvel but DC really has to step up there game in terms of the Big-Screen. DC dominates the comic world of animation and also television.I only wish that they bring that success to the Big-Screen. I’m expecting WW and The Flash to be next. As for PR, I haven’t seen it yet but i’m really looking forward to seeing it. As for next year, Godzilla i’m waiting for ya!

    • How can you not spot Joe Gatt!

      Great show.

  13. Blue guy up top looks like Beast coming naked out of the shower and realizing there is company standing in the living room!

  14. I hsve given up on DC , they are either don’t care about there heroes and fans or too coward to make just a couple of movies
to coward to incorporate the two most succesful series the dark knight and man of steel
too coward to make their mind about batman or GL
too coward to put ideas on flash or WW OR aquaman….
man of steel just passed 600 million world wide , and it isn’t the expected success , so they will devastate them selves and the upcoming JL if they decide to make a new batman “and thats what probably will happen “” because its very hard to top nolan’s version
of course nolan’s has its flaws , but it’s the most succesful interpretation yet , and if the nest director decided no to adobt the realism of nolan , he will do a fantastical batman and that would clearly not work.
i am very sad for DC and their so good characters that will be probably ruined by WB next move
i hope WB come to their senses , and announce some thing good at comic con , but i don’t expext any smarts from them.

  15. Congrats on the 100th episode.
And great review of Pacific Rim! it feels so good to finally hear people rant on the things that frustrated me about it; your official review doesn’t go so much into that.

  16. I am kindling of course about the “Spotting Joe Gatt”, lol. I cant wait for season 2 of ” Banshee”, i love the open theme song, i hope they put out a soundtrack. I am looking forward to hearing about Xmen: DoFP, story, to see how far they stray or stick to the OG storyline.
