It’s the first week of July which for comic book, movie, TV and video game geeks means there’s only two weeks left before Comic-Con International 2013 erupts in San Diego from July 18-21 with early access for preview night on July 17th. Screen Rant and sister site Game Rant will be covering the event live on the scene and with the days counting down, the film studios showcasing upcoming projects are beginning to reveal their presentation plans.

So far, we’ve heard from Focus Features, Lionsgate, Sony Screen Gems and Summit Entertainment, with much more to come. Highlights include Harrison Ford making his second appearance at Comic-Con and a new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Godzilla, Seventh Son, 300: Rise of an Empire, Gravity, The LEGO Movie (Warner Bros. & Legendary)

[Hall H - 10:45] Legendary is bringing the talent from Godzilla and Seventh Son along with new footage, while Warner Bros. brings 300: The Rise of an Empire, Gravity and The LEGO Movie. If Snyder shows up for the 300 sequel he’s producing, will he have something for Man of Steel? Will Warner Bros. finally unveil their future DC Entertainment movie plans?

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire & I, Frankenstein (Lionsgate)

[Hall H - 1:35 PM] Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger will moderate a panel featuring (unannounced) talent and exclusive footage from two of the studio’s upcoming films The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and I, Frankenstein. Expect headlines Jennifer Lawrence and Aaron Eckhart to make (non)surprise appearances.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (20th Century Fox)

[Hall H - 4:15 PM] No details have been announced for Fox’s big panel but we know Bryan Singer will be there with X-Men: Days of Future Past. With the presentation coming after Sony and Warner Bros, and just before Marvel Studios, expect a star-studded lineup, new footage and possibly, a major announcement.

Thor: The Dark World & Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Marvel Studios)

The only Disney appearance this year is from their Marvel Studios and this headline event has much to live up to after introducing the entire cast of The Avengers three years ago, followed by Iron Man 3 and announcements regarding Phase Two last year. Expect to learn more about Guardians of the Galaxy (since Dave Bautista will be at Comic-Con anyway) and about at least one of Marvel’s unannounced 2016-17 features.

  1. I hope WB announces their plans for DC going forward.

    • Or just officially announce MoS 2 or something.

      Something.

      • Agreed. Having attended Comic Con the last couple of years, Marvel rules the roost, so to speak, with respect to their movie franchises.

I’d like WB/DC to announce something that gets the fans in a fever pitch, much like Marvel does when it showcases their properties. Of course, this assumes that they have a plan to begin with, and are willing to share it with us at a convention such as this.

    • Exactly what I want.

    • At least one new solo movie, appart from MOS2.

would love to hear about Wonder Woman next, but if its Flash, I wont be mad, since it could be pretty cool with today’s effects and a great creative team involved.

  2. Too bad I can’t go /: Boston-Con was cancelled because of the Boaton Marathon Bombing and has been rescheduled to fall

  3. Yeah, not going either (couldn’t secure tickets). Really wanted to attend the Guardians of the Galaxy panel.

    Is SR going?

    • Man that system was so jacked with trying to get tickets. I tried for 3 hours to only fail. Comic-Con needs to come up with a better system for purchasing badges. Having to pay $60 for a member id and not being able to get tickets is not cool.

  4. Can’t wait until they come to New York!

  5. I’ll just be going to Dragon Con since it’s closer to me…always a fun time… :)

  6. Give us Scranters the Comic-Con update we all really want…will Anthony Ocasio be dressing up as a Ghostbuster?

    • I hope so. And maybe he’ll get accidentally cast unless Ghostbusters 3 is delayed again because Annie Potts said she’d only do the movie if there could be a scene involving Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully eating even more pizza than the first movie.

  7. Does anyone know if anyone will be showing the CC footage like “Attack Of The Show” used to?? If not, is there anywhere online where those of us not fortunate to go can see some highlights?

  8. Please,if y can remember. Ask someone @ MCU
    -Black panther movie
-Why they went w/the IG story line instead of going w/the The Avengers Annual #7 and Marvel Two-in-One Annual story lines
-Why/why not the are changing Quicksilver/Scarlett Witch origins

    • @EtotheJ –

1)I’m pretty sure they are not going to get a scoop like a Black Panther movie unless they already plan to announce it.

2)You are getting really obscure with the issue references. The Thanos Infinity gauntlet story is the most popular and it was done in the 90′s, not the 60′s. But really, we don’t know for sure which Thanos story they will go with.

      3) They have to change the SW & QS origins. They can’t use the mutant thing because FOX owns them. It’s either change it, don’t mention it, or don’t use those characters. Many, including me, love these characters and will take them any way they can get them. As long as they are given decent origins or if it’s not really mentioned, people will love them.

  9. With quicksilver and scarlet witch, its simple. Dont mention their origins just
let them keep their powers. Fox’s marvel movies look like roger corman
storylines anyway (with exception of xmen and xmen 2) being in fourth place
Among comic book movies with a director who has not had a 100 million dollar hit
Domestically since the lame superman returns poses no threat to mcu.

    • Agree. It would be a great way to introduce The High Evolutionary & my father cow lady. Maybe The Whizzer/Miss America.

  10. i heard that mad max fury road will be part of comic con. they havent annoucned anyone coming. http://sdccblog.com/2013/07/mad-max-coming-to-comic-con/

  11. Cant wait to read reports from X-Men panel.

Rob, try to interview the cast!! :D
