Most of the major players from Thor have already been revealed. We know Ray Stevenson is Volstagg, Idris Elba is Heimdall, Tom Hiddleston is Loki, Anthony Hopkins is Odin, and, of course, Chris Hemsworth is the titular God of Thunder. But there are still some peripheral characters that we don’t know anything about. For instance, who is veteran stage and screen actor Colm Feore going to play in the film?
Thus far, we haven’t heard one clue about who Feore might be playing, just our own strong hunch that his character is a villain. Given the wide range of characters Thor faced off against in the comics however, that doesn’t whittle the field down all that much. On Tuesday, Feore revealed a small piece of information during an interview in the Montreal Gazette that may give us a (slightly) more educated guess.
In the interview, Feore talks about how his agreement with Marvel prohibits him from revealing anything about the movie, but in the next breath he says, “I can tell you makeup took me five hours every day, and that made for a very long day.” It’s not much, but it’s enough for some random Internet speculation, so let’s get to it. What Thor villain could Feore be playing if he required five hours in the makeup chair?
Two names that jump to mind right off the bat are the frost giant Ymir or the fire demon Surtur. Of course, there’s nothing about Feore as an actor that strikes me as a fit for either of those characters. If they are in the film, they will definitely need a lot of time in the makeup chair. I would think Ymir and Surtur would both be CGI, as far as who he’ll play … no clue.

I think you guys are right about Ymir and Surtur being CGI. Malekith is a good guess. I just wonder how many characters they expect to cram into this movie.

Yes… I’m kidding. I do agree about Ymir and Surtur being more suited to CGI, though, so I consider them unlikely. Not sure who he might be. Would have to research for a bit on that.
