Colin Farrell Says Yes To ‘Fright Night’ & ‘Horrible Bosses’

It looks like Colin Farrell is going to be keeping busy for the next few months. The Irish star has signed on to two new high-profile projects that should help his star climb to new heights after a few years in “movie wilderness.”

Farrell is set to star in the horror remake Fright Night and the comedy Horrible Bosses.

Farrell will play the evil vampire/ neighbor in director Craig Gillespie’s 21st Century update of the 1985 cult-classic,  which was originally directed by Tom Holland (Child’s Play). The film features the acting talents of Star Trek’s Anton Yelchin (presumably as the teenager who discovers his neighbor is a bloodsucker) and Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense).

Meanwhile, Farrell has also signed onto New Line’s Horrible Bosses, which will be directed by Seth Gordon (The King of Kong). According to IMDB the film has the following plot:

“Three friends conspire to murder their awful bosses when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness.”

In the last few months Farrell had been pondering quite a few high profile features including the potential action franchise Consent to Kill, as well as the Katherine Heigl film One for the Money and Reese Witherspoon’s This Means War (which recently caught the interest of Chris Pine). Farrell has also signed up for a supporting role in Something Borrowed alongside Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski.

In recent years the actor has shied away from big-budget Hollywood films to focus on low key dramas and character parts. It would appear that 2010 is the year that brings him back into the spotlight (like his role in the Oscar-winning Crazy Heart).

Farrell also has quite a few other projects that are set to be released, including the drama Triage; London Boulevard opposite Kiera Knightley; Peter Weir’s The Way Back; and Neil Jordan’s Ondine.

  1. Who’s gonna play Evil Ed?

  2. Colin does not have a supporting role in “Something Borrowed”. He recently denied being associated with that project during interviews at Tribeca Film Fest.

  3. is colin by-polar?

  4. I think he’s a good actor. He’ll be good in Fright Night!

  5. I actually like Colin farell so I’m happy he’s doing bigger budget movies again. I think he’s earned his credibility as a good actor. Anyone seen In Bruges?? Yeah it kinda got him some big recognition.
