When it comes to multiplayer games, Call Of Duty remains one of the most popular with thousands upon thousands of players filling the servers. As a result of those servers being so jam-packed, there are a couple of players that range from slightly irritating to downright annoying, who attempt to ruin the experience for others.

Sometimes players are harmless, such as the ones who purposefully mess with the other players to get a chuckle out of it. However, it is the sad truth that Call Of Duty games have one of the most toxic gaming communities in the world that end up causing a lot of frustration and a lot of fights.

Going Idle

Leaving in the case of an emergency is one thing, making it easy to excuse a player going idle. However, more often than not, it's a case where a player decides to just put down the controller; either to grab food or start scrolling through their phone (thus leaving everything to the other players).

This can come off as insulting to other players as they push themselves into battle while a singular player sticks to the spawn. It can also lead to exploitation in certain modes, where kills count for points and the other team can utilize that idle player, forcing the other teammates to protect them.

COD Players Are Beginner Unfriendly

Every gamer has to start somewhere and not everyone knows how to play Call Of Duty from the moment they boot it up. That's why it becomes disheartening when a player dies or makes a mistake, only to have other teammates ostracize that player. Even the most experienced players can struggle with the many maps in Call Of Duty: Zombies or regular multiplayer.

Not every player views playing Call Of Duty as some intense eSport or way of life, to them it's just a game to have fun with. That's why the players who feel the need to verbally attack the newcomers are taking things far too seriously.

Mocking The Dead Players Is Not Funny

Mocking the player that was just eliminated in the actual game is a tired and childish action. It doesn't prove a player is better than anyone, it actually makes them seem less respectable.

In modern Call Of Duty games, it can even hinder the player. Typically, even some of the best Call Of Duty multiplayer maps are so small that more than likely, another enemy is around the corner about to eliminate a person that is too focused taunting them.

Explosives Are Not The Secret Weapon

From rocket launchers to semtex grenades, Call Of Duty players seem to love their explosives. While there is definitely use to them, there are a lot of players who blindly use them as the main weapon. So many matches of Call Of Duty devolve into grenade dodgeball games and it doesn't really help.

The explosions don't magically kill players. In fact, there is always enough time for a player to get enough distance from the explosion and get to safety. This tactic can also disorient other players of the team as the constant explosions can make navigating through the map difficult due to shaky cam and dust fog.

Abandoning Teammates In Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is a battle royale shooter

Like many Battle Royales, including the ever-evolving and changing Fortnite or Apex Legends, teamwork is essential to progress in a match and winning in Call Of Duty: Warzone. This is why it is integral to keep constant communication and stay together but, unfortunately, not many players keep this in mind.

Whether it's duos, trios, or quads, it's sadly not uncommon to see one of the teammates leave the team entirely or land in a location on the other side of the map. This is a baffling choice when Warzone offers solo gameplay, so leaving a team will often result in death due to other teams outnumbering them.

Focusing Only On Kills

Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and various other modes give the objective and incentive to focus on kills. So it becomes infuriating for other players on other modes, such as Domination or Capture The Flag, when they want the team to focus on the given objectives but to no avail.

It might seem impressive to eliminate so many enemy players but it means nothing when the enemies still win because they were playing properly; mixing kills and accomplishing the objective.

Camping Is A Cheap Tactic

Simply finding a high spot and aiming down the scope of a sniper rifle or DMR to eliminate enemies is nothing but a cheap way to rack up eliminations. There are other ways of going about camping as well, such as crouching in a corner and waiting for somebody to poke their head around.

These tactics are not beneficial to the team and it's essentially another way of going idle. These days, players have grown such a despisal for campers that they are often ready for them as well; so camping is rarely a way to gain the advantage.

Going "Rambo"

As everyone knows, beginners make mistakes so it's silly to judge them and all they need are tips to play the latest Call Of Duty game. However, a person who is high-ranked and clearly has been playing for a long time is a different story. There is more to Call Of Duty than running and gunning, it is still a military shooter which means that tactics are beneficial.

That's why it becomes confusing to watch an ally go charging face-first into the heavy fire thinking they can fight five to ten enemy players by themselves. In some modes, it's simply an annoying setback while in other elimination-based modes it can cost the match, especially in Warzone.

Cheating Is Out Of Control

What is there to gain through cheating, exactly? It's not a legitimate win and all it does is make other players despise the one that is cheating. Sadly, Call Of Duty has become one of the most cheater-infested games in the world, even to the point of breaking games like Warzone.

In fact, Call Of Duty: Vanguard implemented an anti-cheat system known as Ricochet that detected and banned over 48,000 players from the servers. Even that isn't enough because hackers continued to upgrade and counteracted against Ricochet. So auto-aiming and players with unlimited ammo and/or health still plague the servers.

The Voice Chat Is Almost Unbearable

Any kind of insult imaginable can be heard through the voice chat in Call Of Duty games. Racial slurs, sexist comments, insults against the LGBTQ+ community, and more are just saddening and can prove to be quite harmful too.

Even adults in the voice chat act this way and it makes communication almost impossible. That's not even getting to the players that have music blaring or a household of people in the background that can be heard. Even developers know how bad it can get since they include the option to mute all players in a match.
