Thanks to a glitch, one Call of Duty: Warzone player managed to enter a locked Golden Vault on Rebirth Island; there's apparently no way to exit, however. The Rebirth Island map originally joined Warzone in a December 2020 Season One update for Black Ops Cold War. To the dismay of many a player, the map received little to no significant changes for quite a long time. Fortunately, Raven Software fixed that much and more upon rolling out Rebirth Reinforced for Vanguard's and Warzone's Season 2 Reloaded content last month.

As the biggest map update since the locale's initial release, Rebirth Reinforced altered several points of interest, such as Stronghold, and introduced players to a new one - Dock. Rebirth received additional boosts in the form of Blood Money, Payload, and Resurgence Solos, three game modes that joined classic modes in the weekly playlists. Notably, a few locked bunkers known as Golden Vaults scatter the island, as well. Though each one remains inaccessible, Raven Software recently unleashed a Rebirth Reinforced event that entices the community to work towards unlocking the vaults as a collective. One Call of Duty: Warzone player managed to get ahead of the curve, though. (Kind of.)

Today, April 8, Twitter user BobNetworkUK (via IGN) shared a clip of themselves entering one of the Golden Vaults on Warzone's Rebirth Island map. The trick involved the player standing still in front of one vault door while an ally repeatedly ran into them with a jeep. When the third blow from the jeep connects, BobNetworkUK clips through the door and finds a treasure trove of new COD: Warzone loot to scavenge. There does exist one noteworthy problem, however - the player couldn't get back out of the vault, according to their responses in the Twitter thread. See how the glitch works in the video linked below:

Since there's currently no way out of the Golden Vault, the above trick serves as nothing more than a showpiece, an example of what's possible under the right set of circumstances. As such, Call of Duty: Warzone players will not truly know what the Golden Vaults have on offer until the community challenge reaches its conclusion.

Warzone launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in March 2020, providing Call of Duty users with a dedicated, free-to-play battle royale experience. It didn't take long for the title to assert its dominance in the space, with over 100 million unique players signing on at one point or another. Reportedly, Activision is looking to further increase the battle royale's reach with a Warzone sequel for current-gen platforms. As of writing, the publisher has yet to corroborate claims about a follow-up installment.
