I’ve been reading a few boards and here a few of my favorite plots about a Cloverfield 2. Hope it sparks some conversation

1. Rob and Beth survive, grab another camera, and film their escape from New York.

Now this would be plausible becasue at the end of the movie, if Rob did say it was still alive, it sure as hell wouldn’t just sit in Manhattan for long. Would be more of the same thing, but I’m sure Matt and JJ could figure out some new ways for the two to interact with the monster. This is my favorite plot for a second movie because I care about the two characters, and I care about their fate.

2. Same event, different perspective.

I dont really care for this one because, as a person to be entirely sucked up by the viral marketing, I wouldnt care for the characters as much. They would just be another group of people running for another 78 minutes, whos fates you could care less about.

3. Same event, but told on a large scale, such as all the “classic” monster movies.

Intriguing but probably will tank badly, IMO its more of the same that we have already seen.

JJ Abrams was on the O&A radio show in New York. He was talking Cloverfield, Lost and a bit of Star Trek. He said that there are quite a few visual easter eggs for the hardcore fans who like that kind of fan service.

I’ll have to see it again on DVD to catch them.

Zachary, yet another thing I did NOT see.

I found a “screen shot” of the Dharma logo (supposedly). Not sure if this is really from Cloverfield, and undoctored.

If anyones interested in the beginin’ of the movie. Where it shows like the time code for the handheld cam and cuts to “Case Designated Cloverfield” There is a Dharma logo in there, which ties into Lost for you lost people. I personally never got into Lost.

Does anyone remember the time stamp for this scene? I wonder how it compares to the “oil” rig disaster, which if I recall didn’t have a specific date, but a range of about 5 days. At least in one of the newscsasts–or maybe the press release from Tagruato.

Yes, it is indeed at the end with the Coney Island scene when the camera looks out to the ocean. It will be off to the right near the large boat. And you really need to look for it because its only there for a second.

My boyfriend says he saw something falling in the Coney Island footage at the end, but I must have missed it. We didn’t stay long enough to hear any static, but quite a few people purposely stayed in their seats for this kind of thing.

Is this the “spherical object falling into the water” that everyone except me apparently saw? Out of all the comments about this object, no one ever specified that what they saw was during the previous video recording.

This context will help me know where to look, WHEN I see it again.

I think I read somewhere that if you look while they’re on the ferris wheel, something can be seen falling into the water.

Pretty awesome.
