Clint Eastwood Returning to Acting in ‘Trouble With The Curve’

Clint Eastwood Trouble With the Curve Clint Eastwood Returning to Acting in Trouble With The Curve

Since he’s officially become a member of the 80-year-old club, fans of Clint Eastwood have gotten used to the legendary star being behind the camera – directing such acclaimed films as Mystic River, Invictus or Hereafter - rather than in front of it.

In fact, the only onscreen work Eastwood has done in almost a decade has been in films he also directed (Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino) – but that could all change soon, should he sign on for the sports/family drama, Trouble With The Curve.

Word is that Eastwood is taking a “serious look” at the Warner Bros. project, which tells the story of an aging baseball scout who’s losing his eyesight and sets out on one last trip to Atlanta with his daughter, in order to scout a hot prospect. The script for the film was written by Randy Brown and will be the directorial debut of Eastwood’s Malpaso Productions partner, Robert Lorenz; Lorenz has served as assistant director on multiple Eastwood films like  Mystic River and Blood Work. No word yet on the actress who will play the daughter.

A role like this is as fitting for Eastwood’s real-life circumstances as his Gran Torino role was an appropriate reflection of his former image as a movie badass. Although, with upcoming directorial projects like this fall’s J. Edgar and a remake of A Star Is Born (currently delayed by the pregnancy of star Beyoncé Knowles) it seems that Eastwood has far more vitality left in his bones than the character he’ll portray in Trouble With The Curve. One can only hope so.

We’ll keep you informed about the development of  Trouble With the Curve as more info is released.

Clint, all I have to say is, Red 2….PLEASE!! How awesome would it be if Frank Mose’s father, also a R.E.D., helps out. Think about it, Clint.

Will there ever be an actor with such an on and off the screen presence as iconic as Clint Eastwood? No one has even come close yet so my answer is no.

Sounds like it would be a fun flick, something sort of like On Golden Pond, where an aging famous actor (the late Henry Fonda) plays a no-nonsense character who sorts of to comes with terms with his daughter.
