My favorite line from Back to the Future is, “Damn… Damn,” as Doc Brown looks at his watch waiting for Marty. That’s priceless.

Vic says:

Oh sure, that was funny (and very mild). But Fox’s character if I recall threw around terms like sh*t and G-dammit more than a few times, which I thought was really unnecessary.

Yep, he did indeed. Ratings are relative, I suppose, especially if you’re a parent.

It’s a shame Hollywood doesn’t realize that cleaner movies are bigger moneymakers. I think the movies such as(although I haven’t see the last 2) Pirates of the Caribbean (I recall the 1st one) didn’t have much profanity, unnecessary nudity, smoking. The violence was a fantasy sort of violence, and I don’t think that was too much. I’m certainly no prude, however I shy away from most of the R rated movies and really enjoy the clean ones. And the recent animated movies have done well.

Bekka says:

This is a shame, and a real blow for personal liberty. If I purchase a movie and want it cleaned up so my kids can watch it, I should be able to do just that. Hollywood always likes to rant about censorship; but they’re the worst censors (of decency) of the bunch.

Vic says:

Well I don’t know about a blow to personal liberty… maybe a blow to the selection of movies you can watch with your kids. Don’t forget that Clearplay.com was not affected by this decision and they offer the ability to watch edited movies.
