The great thing about the original was it was soooo ambitious. Can anyone imagine seeing thta script and how many FX and and stop motion it would take? The CGI FX are commonplace today, I hope the remake is as ambitious.

I just saw that Ray Harryhausen is 88 today.
I knew there was a reason I waited to post this!!!

I guess if they must do a remake, one very different in attitude to the first could work.
If they stick to this it will intrigue me.

That’s pretty exciting, R-rated movies are always better if they are of this type, I think. It adds the ability for increased focus on the goals of the film, and more emotional impact of story aspects and realism.

if you must remake it… i won’t lie i would probably be first in line to watch. But Ii find it disheartening to a point to know that my all time favorite movie woulden even be slightly altered.. i’m sure the r rated part would be gore.. but the part i saw was that the script would be changed so if it happens we will see… but i will definately give it a chance just b/c of what movie it is….
