[Update: Check out a new Clash of the Titans behind-the-scenes featurette!]
With only a month left before the Clash of the Titans remake hits theaters (in 3D!), the promo materials for the film are going to start coming at us pretty rapidly.
Case in point: today we have three new Clash of the Titans TV spots (you probably caught them over the weekend during the final rounds of the Winter Olympics), and also some new artwork featuring the mythological monsters that appear in the movie.
First we’ll take a look at the three new Clash of the Titans TV spots. The first one is pretty much a condensed version of the teaser trailer – same music, same sequencing, same footage- this time with the updated selling point of “In 3D!” stamped all on it. The second TV spot is slightly more revealing about what the actual story of the film is, similar to the international trailer. The third TV spot focuses even more on story and features some new footage.
Anyway, check out all three Clash of the Titans TV spots:

Side Note: Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that they’re now advertising movies with the bookend of “…and in 2D” attached? When did THAT become something you needed to say about a movie? That it’s in 2D? Has Avatar really changed the game that drastically? Sheesh…

On to the monster art: Have a look at some of the mythological monsters you’ll be seeing in Clash of the Titans, courtesy of Empire magazine and Bloody Disgusting:

Medusa

The Krakken

Clash of the Titans (in 3D AND 2D) hits theaters on April 2, 2010.

The REAL clash of the titans comes out on March 16th!
Amen to that!
giant scorpion = LOTR elephant much?
@Steve
Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean the REAL Clash of the Titans.
I think he's implying that the original either sucked or just NEEDED a remake.
Pretty sure he thinks the orig sucked
MercWadeWilson & Ink,
Oh no no no, my friends, this is what I mean: http://www.godofwar.com/Index/#Home
As you can see, the REAL Clash of the Titans.
Sorry Sam, I like you, but, you're not worthy Greek Fantasy Epicness.
Ahhh, I understand. Never played the game so I'll take your word as opinion.
GOW does look cool though. I just like simpler, faster games.
Ink, brother, take this advice. If you have a PS3, or even still a PS2, you MUST play the first God of War game and the sequel. It is basically a straight up action game, similar to Ninja Gaiden with some puzzle solving. Bloody, a great story, and fun boss battles. On easy settings, you can go through it pretty fast.
If you have a PS3, they have GoW 1&2 for it also in a collection, and, well March 16th!
You will see how awesome this game is, AND, how much this french director Louis took from these games for this film. Basically, everything! Which is why I believe there is not point in making a God of War game because you basically have that here. Shame.
In fact, in the game you fight Minotaurs that are like your profile pic, lol.
Maybe I'll give it a go. BTW my profile pic is a werewolf character of mine. But I can see were you would think the ears are horns. See a bigger pic of it here:

ugh.. its a remake of the old clash of the titans movie, not god of war. so basically he didnt take anything from the game, that is not already in the old movie.
Magnus, I know it is a remake of the 80s Clash film. I even have that DVD with the old Warner Bros. stupid dvd case where it is a fold/clip open.
The point I am making is that look at the tone, cinematography, character design, armor design, even those concept art stills…isn't that SO similar to what is found in the God of War games? Look at the character design of the three sisters, especially the face.
Now, one can say, “Steve, stupid, these are all Greek Mythology characters. How else are they supposed to look” yes, one can say that. But, I am reminded to what David Jaffe–the creator of God of War–said in the first game is that he is taking familiar characters, monsters, etc. and putting a Heavy Metal tone and twist to them. Heavy Metal referring to the adult comic books.
So, with that being said, Louis Letterrier could have done the same tone as the Hamlin film. Instead, it is a obvious he must have given the God of War art books to the concept artists and said, “This is what I want. Maintenant!”
whatever, point is, March 16th…God of War 3!!!!
oh ok. i didnt know that:) i havent seen the old movie so i didnt really have a good argument but i didnt think they wud go in that direction. but i mean it cud also be a coincident haha. unlikely but still:p
i must agree god of war looks pretty good, tho much the same as the last 3 games. grahpic wise it hasnt been that much of an improvement i think:p. but i enjoyed the games, well i havent playd the second one but the first was good and the 3rd looks awesome:) so who knows, i might buy it:p ( and i didnt mean to press “like” sry:p)
Agree with that
Thumbs up io!
Godzilla could so take The Krakken anyday, lol.
