After seeing some low-resolution photos of what looked to be some awesome one-sheets for Louis Leterrier’s upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans, combined with its stellar cast, I couldn’t be more excited to see Sam Worthington lay down the pain as Perseus against Medusa and the Kraken.
Based on Greek Mythology, the Warner Bros. production of Clash of the Titans is a remake of the classic 1981 film, well-known for its practical stop-motion effects. We’ve been waiting patiently to get a real good look at the film and that time has finally come.
So without further ado, here is the first official teaser trailer for Clash of the Titans:
Check out the HD version at Yahoo.
The cast already had me in the theater as did director Louis Leterrier who did a fantastic job with The Incredible Hulk last year. It looks cool to me (although I miss the Ray Harryhausen practical effects and this is the opposite extreme) and I can’t wait for more. If you’re looking for more on Clash of the Titans, be sure to check out the set photos and behind-the-scenes footage we posted recently.
Here’s the synopsis if you’re curious about the story:
In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
Seeing and knowing Worthington as the star here alongside his role in this summer’s Terminator Salvation will help moviegoers will see him as a higher profile star which may help leading up to next month’s eagerly anticipated release of James Cameron’s Avatar.
What do you think of the trailer?
Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Danny Huston and Jason Flemyng. It’s set to hit theaters March 26, 2010.

It looks better then I thought it would .
we shall see.
wow……………….
i cant wait fora remake to the creature from the black lagoon.and steve alten the loch maybe lious lettia can direct he is awesome.
What’s with the rock opera montage for background music? I hope the rest of the soundtrack isn’t like that.
Nitpicking asisde…the teaser looks great. Everything a modern retelling should have.
I remember seeing the original movie when I was a kid , it was a cheesey crap-fest and I remember feeling ripped off .I
wasn’t interested in seeing the remake until now.
This version actually looks pretty cool
I thought the “Titans Will Clash” was a bit much
I liked the trailer looks like 300 meets Troy especially 300 with the rock music blaring throughout(which I thought didn’t fit)…
Wasn’t a fan of the music choice, but the movie looks good.
I’m geeked! Looks good!
Hurmm…. maybe it was the trailer, but the film doesn’t look that good for me, except for the action and CGI. I’d need another one with dialogue and more stuff…
And I agree the music used did not fit very well.
Wow, this looks WAYYYY better than I thought it would. It actually got me interested in seeing this film. Liam Neeson looks GREAT as Zeus. I actually might have to see this one in the theater.
I thought the music was great. Had a very Trans Siberian Orchestra feel to it.
I say GRRReat! We have a movie with an awesome legendary story. The actors Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Pete Postlethwaite, Izabella Miko, Alexa Davalos, and Gemma Arterton veterans all and familiar to just about everybody into movies, Fantasy, and SciFi. If this doesn’t do well their is something seriously wrong with the movie going public or Hollywood has completely lost its way…
I normally don’t like having rock music, but this is a teaser, so no real story or dialogue, so it’s more or less a music video. So I don’t think the rock music was bad considering it was just a montage of crazy action scenes, kind of fits. I mean, imagine Sam Worthington doing his crazy face to classical… now THAT would be awkward…
Anyway, the movie looks crazy, definitely looking forward to it…
Awesome. Loved the scenes with the Giant Scorpions.
Can we move on from the music in the teaser trailer ? lol
I didn’t know what to expect from the info about it but it looks pretty exciting.
It’s gonna be nasty!
The owl better be in the movie. Shocked they didn’t show it in the trailer.
Looks really good! Cannot wait, wasnt too bothered before but after seeing this, makes me more excited than Av(snore)atar.
And Gemma Arterton, delicious. Stood next to her last night, and damn is she pretty!
Wow SamBeckett, you mean you are not excited about Avatar? Man, how surprised I am to hear this, it’s not like you try to squeeze that into every post you make. /sarcasm
lol
Yeah. I feel the need to say it as often as possible, its like bad movie tourettes
LOL, well, more like what you think will be bad movie since nobody has seen it yet. Unless you’re psychic, then in that case, can you give me next week’s winning lottery numbers for Florida?
Well obviously it is just my opinion, and you know something? I would like nothing more than to be proved completely wrong and for Avatar to be a great piece of ‘game changing’ cinema. I think Cameron has made some amazing films, but I’m not sure this is going to be one.
Ok, just saw the trailer again from home, better quality picture and sound. And damn, I don’t know what the gripe is with the music. The Music and video elements were timed perfectly and the amount of crazy action definitely warrants the guitars in the song. Very good teaser, can’t wait for the full trailer. Looks pretty bad ass.
@Ken J
Bet it’s better than you know what!
No, I don’t, please tell me! haha
Don’t be so negative, just wait for the movie to come out. I’m pretty sure Cameron will surprise you. Wouldn’t you rather it be good than for it to be bad?
@ Andy S,
How fitting that I’m seeing the Trans Siberian Orchestra tomorrow
Of course I would!!! But so far, the teaser had me interested, the trailer showed bad dialogue and too much blue cat people, I want to see space marines killing stuff and Cameron directing and writing a movie like Aliens. Because with these modern movies, what real job does the director have? Especially on films where there arent really any sets, I have faith in Cameron’s abilitites, but this looks like a CGI step too far, I want to see real sets and locations. And the story just doesnt seem very original.
