For you weekend movie news hunters we have a new featurette that goes behind the scenes and looks at the characters of the upcoming big-budget remake of Clash of the Titans. The movie stars Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Neeson as Zeus, Ralph Fiennes as Hades and features battles with familiar mythological creatures like Medusa and the Kraken.

The Titans featurette focuses on the character side of things; interviews with some of the movie’s stars telling us about Perseus, Zeus, Hades and all the rest of the major characters of the story. Unfortunately it doesn’t show us a lot of behind the scenes stuff during shooting scenes (although there is a little of that thrown in there) but it does feature some new footage not seen in previous trailers (including what I believe is our first proper look at Medusa and not just of her snake hair from the back).

Watch the featurette below, thanks to Trailer Addict:

If you look closely there are a couple of shots in there of Medusa from the front (I wonder why we didn’t turn to stone?…) and I have to say they’ve done a fine job with the design. Of all the elements of Clash of the Titans, Medusa is probably the hardest thing to get right. But it looks like they’ve pretty much nailed it.

Although I’m not too happy that they’re converting Clash of the Titans to 3D (as opposed to the better option of shooting in the format from the start), I’m still looking forward to this movie. And if you’re a regular reader of Screen Rant, you know that’s saying something when one of us is cheerleading a remake! icon razz Clash of the Titans Character Featurette

Worthington looks awesome as Perseus, as do Neeson as Zeus and Fiennes as Hades. And I think it goes without saying the Kraken is one helluva intimidating creature!

What do you think of the featurette? Are you liking the look of all the gods and creatures so far, particularly Medusa?

After being pushed back from its original March 26th release date (to allow time for the 3D conversion), Clash of the Titans now hit theaters on April 2nd, 2010.

  1. The more I see of this movie the more I can't wait to see it in theatres!

  2. hahaha, kind of amusing that it's “in 3-D”… but it's “2-D in select theatres”.

  3. This will be so worth the wait because; the only way to watch this movie is 3-D after what I saw done in Avatar. Also looking forward to Sam next movie Texas Killing Field; to bad it will be filmed in Louisiana.

  4. Awesome!! I made a fan trailer using some of this new footage:

Can't wait for this to come out!

  5. Not really a fan of the greek mythologies but this is just too awesome to pass on, this is a must watch kind of movie.
