Honestly, I don’t think Bruce Lee would “give” a damn, if people still thought Highly of him, he was, ultimately, a Person, who just wanted an honest life for himself & hiS Family, and tizz cooL that his Daughter & Wife are trying to continue his “Legacy” and such, he was a Pioneer, and aLL, and aLL Pioneers have the Benefit of Being The one to Break the Mold, especially during a time when no Asian Superstar was able to break into the Collective Mass Consciousness in a way, that had never heretofore been seen before…I think he’d be impress’d with EVERYONE doing their thing now, especially Chan, Jet & Jaa…Whomsoever, as long as you show Guts & Originality…I think he’d be impress’d with Jija Yanin, as well, cuz, back then, he didn’t think Women could do sufficient MartiaL Arts, my, how thirty some odd years can change a LOT, neh?

It does look interesting.

I myself can’t warm up to Jay Chou that much, he always has that same look on his face. But I cheer for any Asian actor that gets some recognition in the west (Love Asian cinema, while not Asian myself). And Eric Tsang is in this too, who I loved in all these ’80′s comedies.

I love Asian Cinema, am ambivalent about Treasure Hunter (Ling Chi-ling acting?), and can’t stand Jay Chou. I haven’t seen a movie yet in which he doesn’t act as himself, though for the sake of any number of Asian actors more deserving of breaking in in the US I hope he makes a respectable turn here. (I also think his music stopped being original and turned totally derivative and boring about six years ago, and that he’s a sexist pig, but none of that would prevent me from enjoying a movie he’s in if I like the movie. Heck, I liked Initial D.)

Haha National Treasure – Mummy Hunter I chuckled a bit when I read that. You wanna see some sweet kung fu? Check our Mr. Jaa in The Protector.. best choreography period. Dude breaks like 60 bones in one scene. And hes not a big guy either but it comes town to that technique. I hear hes the next bruce lee if thats ever attainable.

Actually, I really admire Jay Chou.
Not only his movie, which are more well-known to the western countries, but also his music which are unique and great.
He’s famous in the Asian countries for a reason.
Looking forward to The Treasure Hunter and also The Green Hornet.
Hopes that he makes another famous asian actor/singer in the western countries.

yeah but censorship will keep thai films from going very far (they blur any appearance of a gun and other objectionable material). I don’t know if China has been brushed off as only kung fu but I guess it depends who you talk to. Films by Zhang YiMou and Wong Kar Wai have nothing to do with kung fu and have been praised at international film festivals. Johnny To also makes a lot of crime films in hong kong. hopefully more diverse films from Asia start getting more recognition than the typical kung-fu, horror stuff.

I have only seen Jay in one movie(initial D “live action”) and i like him. It might have been because of the movie itself(love cars and crazy about the anime series). Would love to see more of what he can do.

@Beckett – Actually I offer up Asian films all the time for posting on the site. There are just so many out there that we would have to dedicate a large portion of SR to covering them so we have to be selective.

Twitch is a great site for reading up and following foreign films.

And yes, it is a bonus that Chou is attached to Green Hornet as well.
