Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang on the CW’s Smallville) has landed a role on the NBC TV series Chuck.
Kristin will be playing the role of Hannah, who Chuck meets on a flight to Paris. Hannah then ends up getting laid off from her cool job and finds herself working for Buy More.

So the question remains: Can Kristin stretch her acting wings and bring a different feel to this character, or are we going to see the same wistful delivery we got used to over on Smallville?
I am really hoping that she shows more depth of character, or to be more exact, the ability to make this role a unique character and not just Kristin playing another role.
I’m not saying that’s bad, I’m just saying.

I was rather surprised at her performance in PARTITION. She must have dropped her voice a full octave for that role. She clearly has some acting range, just not all that many good opportunities to showcase it.
Am I the only person that really doesn’t see what’s the big rave about Chuck?
I mean,it’s not terrible,and definitely not the worst show on t.v.,but I just don’t understand all the fanboying for this show.

Having just seen Street Fighter: Chun Li, can I just say how impressed I was that Ms Kreuk played exactly the same type of character as Lana Lang. I was under the misguided impression that the two were quite different but no, apparently not. (sarcasm off)
I hope she brings something good to the role. In view of the ‘cutbacks’ the show was forced to make I’d have thought her wages would’ve been better spent elsewhere and the chance given to an unknown (ie cheaper, better and less exposed) actress.
I have thought smallville was getting gayer and gayer and I don’t think chuck is that good, it’s more annoying than entertaining, House, Heroes, Criminal Minds, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Myth Busters, American Chopper, and of course The Big Bang Theory are awesome though
street fighter: legend of chun li was not as bad as people said it was, sure it could have been better but video games turned to movies is likely too hard to turn into a decent movie, was not robin or kristin’s fault at all. if I break into the movie business I plan on taking a mortal kombat shot, maybe even street fighter movie
DUDELOVE: I intentionally did not mention the “superman” connection. Brandon was in the movie under the character title of SUPERMAN, while Kristen was / is? in a reimagining.
I don’t see the direct connection and didn’t think it worthwhile to talk about Brandon Routh in an article about Kristen… at least in today’s article.

Plot:
Lana leaves Smallville for Paris.
She meats Chuck on the plane but they go their separate ways in Paris.
Lana gets possessed by some spirit in Paris and goes back to Smallville.
She is saved by Kent and marries Luthor.
She devorces Luthor and is transformed into some super heroine.
She leaves Smallville and changes her name to Hannah.
She goes to work for Chuck.
Yeah, I can see that.
I would love to see Lana Lang again in the role of Hannah. I like Kristin’s acting.
I also do not understand why people watch Chuck, the whole concept of the show is ridiculous…Kristen is a good actress in my opinion, she may have been bashed up by people in smallville but I thhink she always did a solid job
Hey now, no Chuck bashing!!! It’s a fun show to watch, and if all anybody wants to watch is CSI and medical dramas, then you’re welcome to it. However, I happen to like the lightheartedness and comedy aspect to Chuck. Is it the greatest TV show ever? No, but it’s first season was WAY better than that season of Heroes. Besides, I can spend the whole show looking at Yvonne Strahovski!
I’m kinda meh on Lana, I mean Kristen, being on Chuck. I really REALLY grew tired of her on Smallville, but if she can rise above Lana Lang and become a new character I guess it’ll be ok.
I dont watch chuck, but KRISTIN KREUK on it! Im gonna start watching it. Cant wait til march. I hope the show does well at the ratings.

Look, this girl gets a bad rep with most of the online fandom community, but I honestly feel that she isn’t as bad as people say. In fact, she’s kinda good in some performances as some people pointed out.
Like most actors if you’re stuck playing crappy roles its gonna look bad on you (hi there Christian Bale post 2006 and Nicolas Cage) and I think the way the Smallville writers wrote her character and they asked her to essientally play the angsty love intrest meant there was very little opportunity to show any range. I think if her and Allison Mack were to swap roles, then Allison would get the same critiscims.
I wouldn’t look at Street Fighter as a indication because everyone was bad in it, even vets like Neal McDonough and the usually charismatic and funny Michael Clarke Duncan.
I got a lot of faith in the writers of Chuck, they’ve crafted one of the most fun genre shows in a few years and they have a good balance of character development with the main cast and the secondary cast (Buymore guys).
Plus, I think they’ve had a good streak when it comes to guests on the show. So what’s there to be worried about? I would hope Schrawtz and McG have enough sense to not cast her in another Lana from Smallville type role (which wasn’t that bad but I get the complaint) and give Hannah a fun and positive side. Some of the Chuck-Sarah shippers may complain but whatever. I love the idea of her working at the Buymore and interacting with Tony Hale’s character and Morgan.
This plus the Brandon Routh casting has me excited about the next season (another person who I think has gotten a bad rap over the years because of a Superman project).
Routh, Kreuk and Harmon working with the likes of Adam Baldwin, Zachary Levi and Tony Hale? Roll on March!

I quit watching Smallville early on specifically because of her. My friends drug me to see that stupid Street Fighter movie and her acting (plus dialogue) caused me to get up and leave the theater. I hope I don’t have to stop watching Chuck.
