all of you have great ideas and insights, ive loved reading what other people think of the series. Ive been a fan of the series sence the start. seen both movies, played both gamed and seen the animated short flim too. Riddick is not good or evil, he only looks out for himself and does what he has to to survive. pitch black, in my opinion was the last great of the sci-fi/horror that has come out in years. tcor seemed to me like it was rushed and the story was compacted into the time alloted. it was a good movie if you like riddick but if you were new to the series you might be turned off of the series just because of it. based on the whole series, its all just diffrent stories revolving around riddick. sometimes its mercs, prison guards, bounty hunters, hungry aliens, or necros. I think the third movie should go further into his roots, tell us more about his home world and why he is the only one left of his race. based on what has happened in the series so far the movie should be another random set of events.

It would be so GREAT if we wen’t back to ‘pitch black’ roots. I loved both films. But the lighting and edge pitch black had was closer to art work. Riddick Was more of a modern day Dune type epic sci fi. Man if they could mix the two up a bit it would make this fan so psyched, What ever happens, I just hope it happens !!!! Long Live the Riddick the true quizat zadderac…. Moahdeeb no longer needs the weirding module !

Pitch Black = Excellent. COR = Atrocious Film. With both those statements being made…. I would actually still like to see a 3rd film and hope they could pull the franchise back up to where it belongs.

Regarding the character that wanted to kill the Lord Marshal, the thing is, it was mainly instigated by his wife, who basically manipulated him into wanting to kill him. So should he kill the guy? The problem will still exist, that woman will seduce another high ranker and manipulate him. Should he kill her? Then the guy will want to kill Riddick for sure. Should he kill both of them? That would probably make the most sense, but I’m trying to think of something that doesn’t involve killing off the sexy black chick…

I find it surprising that all the critics hated the Chronicles of Riddick. But everyone I talked to loved it. It is one of the most viewed movies on the internet! There should be a third movie. They owe it to us. Riddick is now a leader. And the series almost mirrors the Conan comics with a twist. The 3rd movie should be the same way. Just like Conan the King. Show Riddick leading the Necros to Furya and trying to hold on to his newly won empire. Because all those generals bowed down to him. But how many are truly loyal. Because I remember that one of them definitely wanted to kill the Lord Marshall.

Actually saw Chronicles the other night on tv. An ok movie, but I’m surprised to see it was written by the same person as the first – it felt so far removed from the intense, personal story of Pitch Black.
Glad to see talk of making it more like the first. That interests me.

Have to agree with Ken though, Riddick’s dark side has been more talk than show so far.

I heard once that the budget for riddick 3 was thirty-five million and have a lot to do with mercs than necromongers.

As crazy as this may sound I haven’t seen Pitch Black, but I’ll make it a point to watch it!! Now in Riddick that movie was off the HIZZLE people even when it was PG-13 the effects were great and the story line was too!!!! But I do remember Riddick being about saving his own skin before others in Pitch Black (the little that I got see), although in Riddick they made him look like a hero you can still see some of that selfish way still it’s like being a good guy or a bad guy war within himself!!!! I can’t wit to see a Riddick 3!!!! Peace!!!!

I also like Pitch Black, a lot. I thought it was really cool, but I hated COR, and much more due to the fact they made Riddick that kind of a hero and good guy, as Ken J pinted out, which was not present in Pitch Black. In PB he wasn’t the protagonist (for me), there were others too but they took him and made a “sequel” about only him which pissed me a lot. So, naturally I have no interest in any new COR film.

Two good flicks, different ratings but both good. The R rating for the third will please fans of the first, everybody i knew who liked Pitch Black loved the Chronicles of Riddick just as much. Rating didn’t matter.
