Technically not all of these films have released yet and this would make year number eleven. Still, we thought it would be OK to go ahead and predict what films from this Christmas movie season would occupy our “gift” categories:

  1. I am Legend at best should have been a stocking stuffer level, though, I guess when all the other movies are weak too “Awesome” is relative. Other choices were pretty spot on.

  2. None of the Harry Potter films got a mention, the first two use to be a big part of my christmas when I was young :( they even use to have those Christmas magical parts in the first two, I guess the first few got competition from LOTR?

    • None of the Potter films were released in the time frame mentioned. Most of those are Thanksgiving or Fall releases.

      • oh ok, i forgot you said you were counting the films that were in the time frame of 15 days before christmas. I’m English so I dont really associate mid-November (which is around when the first Harry Potter’s came out) with Thankgiving, for me its more close to christmas, especially if you left it a few weeks before you get to see the film.

  3. Did anyone else notice the number of boxing movies releasing during christmas?

    • Now that you mention it, there does seem to be a trend there huh?

  4. Swap Avatar with Sherlock Holmes IMHO!

  5. 127 hours should have been above true grit in my opinion. True grit was just ok. Took my whole family to see it on Christmas Eve. Not a big hit with any of them. 127 Hours was just an unbelievably well made. Wish I would have put my money out for that one instead such a better movie!

  6. By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

  7. Is this a joke? Is this website a joke?

    • Yes, John, you got us. This site is a joke, that’s the whole point of Screen Rant – it’s just a big, giant joke site.

      Vic

      • The sham’s up guys… I mean, really, I’m surprised it took someone this long to figure it all out.

  8. I was disappointed that fun with dick and jane was dropped into the lump of coal section. to each his own, but when i saw that movie at the dollar theater i thought it was brilliant for a once over kind of film. it definitely loses its charm, but the first time i saw it, the entire movie had me gasping for air i was laughing so hard.
