Actor Chris Pratt pulled down $1.4 million per episode for the upcoming adaptation of Jack Carr's The Terminal List on Amazon Prime. Pratt's last film was Amazon Prime's The Tomorrow War, directed by Chris McKay, and the actor has a number of projects on deck that will keep him busy well into 2023. One of those projects is the The Terminal List, which features the recurring character of James Reece, a former Navy SEAL who is drawn into a new battle after his teammates are ambushed during a covert mission. The series, which co-stars Jai Courtney, Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, Riley Keough and Jeanne Tripplehorn, is expected to debut sometime in 2022.

Pratt has risen through the ranks of Hollywood since his star-making turn in Parks and Recreation, which led to the blockbuster role of Star-Lord in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then, Pratt has continued to prove his worth in Tinseltown, starring in mostly big-budget franchises, including the MCU with both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2 and Avengers: Infinity War/Avengers: Endgame, as well as the Jurassic World franchise. His latest, The Tomorrow War, has nabbed the sequel green light, and with The Terminal List now in the cards, the actor continues his rise through the ranks.

According to a new report from Variety, Pratt's stardom has helped him to secure a top tier payday for his work on The Terminal List, netting $1.4 million per episode. That's no small feat and a significant increase from the standard TV/streaming salaries thus far. By comparison, Henry Cavill is making $400,000 per episode for his work on Netflix's The Witcher. Pratt made a reported $1.5 million for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as well as for the last two Avengers films, making the multi-episode season of The Terminal List a very lucrative get for the actor.

The Terminal List has enlisted veteran action director, Antoine Fuqua, to direct and executive produce the show, with Pratt once again serving in an actor/producer role as well. Pratt and Fuqua previously worked together on The Magnificent Seven. It's unclear what Pratt will be making once he steps back into his Star-Lord boots for both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, but with the actor continuing to stack the deck on high-profile projects, his asking price is sure to rise.

With TV and streaming taking up a lot more space in Hollywood, it's no surprise that salaries are going up. Unless the project is headed by a major producer, the back-end deals simply aren't the same for talent as they would be for a feature. For those, actors, such as Dwayne Johnson, are seeing a significant up-front fee to make up for diminishing box office and day-and-date releases in the era of Covid-19. For TV and streaming, it's now a game of grabbing up A-list talent, such as Pratt for The Terminal List, and keeping them well paid to ensure the growth of that industry, which shows no sign of slowing down.
