Fans of The Shield that were wondering what Michael Chiklis will do next need wonder no more as The Commish star has signed on to act in and executive produce the new ABC drama No Ordinary Family about a family that suddenly develops superpowers.

Not only will Chiklis be on and off screen with this new show, but he has also signed a development deal to produce new programming as well. So, if anything, maybe he might be able get “The Commish 2” up and running. Fingers crossed.

Hmm…  I’m not sure how this is all going to work out. I love Michael Chiklis and with the Fantastic Four movies we already know that he can play a character that suddenly develops super powers; I’m just not sure how something like that is going to work with ABC. Also, we’ve already got Heroes bringing down the superpower bandwagon.

That being said, the series is created by Jon Harmon Feldman and he was the brains behind the short lived Tru Calling and was a writer for The Wonder Years, Dawson’s Creek and Dirty Sexy Money. If anything, I’ve gotta give him a chance because of The Wonder Years.

What do you think? Can Chiklis pull off a superhero family man? Can the man behind Tru Calling make amazing television for ABC?

Will No Ordinary Family have a spot next to Modern Family on your television schedule?
