With each new installment in Universal's global mega franchise, Fast & Furious, the genre shifts more towards guns and military tasks and away from "racing." This year's billion dollar box office juggernaut and the franchise's eighth installment, The Fate of the Furious, is certainly no different.

In this one, Fast 8 or F8 ("Fate"), poster boy Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is forced to work for the new series villain known as Cipher (Charlize Theron) - a cyber hacker who just wants to control the world. And that means, Dom has to battle his crew as Fate of the Furious doubles down on the themes of family. And that's where the government comes in and everyone suits up with military weapons, vehicles, and gear on both sides. Hence the trailers depicting Dom wearing some cool armor.

Artist Christian Cordella and costumer designer Marlene Stewart worked on some of the concepts for this new look and we have a pair of exclusive images below depicting Cipher and Dom's tactical attire.

Costume designer Marlene Stewart has been in the industry suiting up stars across a variety of genres from decades. These tactical outfits the antagonist faction in Fate of the Furious wear are different than her other recent work, her most comparable project possibly being 1994's True Lies. Stewart has worked as costume designer designing military outfits in Tears of the Sun and Tropic Thunder, historical/fantasy attire in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and sci-fi garb for films including Terminator 2, Oblivion and Allegiant. She can do it all!
