Following Charlie Sheen’s recent outbursts regarding Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, CBS and Warner Bros. have decided to halt production on the hit series for the rest of the season.

While calling into the political radio show “The Alex Jones Show”, Sheen decidedly shifted his attention and began attacking Chuck Lorre and Thomas Jefferson.

As it turns out, this would be just beginning of Sheen’s rants, as the Major League star then called TMZ and – among many things – publicly challenged Chuck Lorre to a fight in the familiar Ultimate Fighter octagon.

Confident in his chances of besting Lorre in a MMA-style match, Sheen noted that if he won the fight, Lorre would have to leave “his (Sheen’s)” show. Knowing that Lorre would never accept a ridiculous offer to fight, Sheen left TMZ with a final message to pass along to Lorre:

“You can tell him [Lorre] one thing.  I own him.”

Considering Two and a Half Men has been on hiatus these past few weeks because of Sheen’s previous antics, his most recent statements served to push CBS and Warner Bros. to stop production on the series for the rest of the season.

In a joint statement, CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television announced their decision:

Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of “Two and a Half Men” for the remainder of the season.

Unfortunately, this statement was not the end of it. With Sheen proving that any mention of his name will bring about the star’s ire, he released his own statement: [Note: Chuck Lorre’s real last name is Levine.]

What does this say about Haim Levine [Chuck Lorre] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows … I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can’t handle my power and can’t handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words — imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.

Remember these are my people … not yours…we will continue on together…

Sounding more like a manifesto for some religious cult than an appropriate response, Sheen (poorly) conveys his unhappiness with Two and a Half Men shutting down. While CBS and Warner Bros. purposefully stated that the series would only be shut down for the rest of the season, the ultimate future of the series is unknown.

Even though Two and a Half Men is an extremely successful venture for the network and studio, it’s obvious that things can not continue the way they have been. Despite Sheen proving that he can separate his partying from his work commitments, it appears that CBS and Warner Bros. want it all… or nothing at all.

As of now, it looks like they’re going for the latter.

  1. Two and a Half Men was still on the air?

  2. It’s about time…CBS was being a big enabler.

    • Good point.

  3. cocaine’s a helluva drug

    • I’d draw a “LMFAO” smiley if this Sheen-Situation wasn’t all that sad.

  4. awwwww thiss sucksss i love two and a half men one of my fav shows

  5. Just another celebrity who’s head has gotten to big. It happen to Van Damme too. He better pray that Stallone lets him in the next expendables. These guys just get too full of themselves and can’t see what they really are, replaceable. We all have to deal with a boss and Sheen is no different. He needs to work on his tact.

  6. Truth be told Two And A Half Men has lost its charm. It all just seems repetitive and the shows do not even come across as a finished product. I was actually wondering how it manages high ratings even though it’s getting poorer with every episode.

I mean you see something like Shameless which is somewhat the same genre, dysfunctional hilarious family.

    Move on Charlie.

  7. maybe the last line of your story should have read:

Two and a Half Men ‘Used to’ air Mondays @9pm, on CBS

  8. He’s a crazy dude, but I find his brand of crazy amusing on some level.

  9. What a total tool. Wait until he wakes up from his drug-induced brain fog and realizes he owns nothing. His “fans” are as fed up with his antics as his employers. He has no power, and there is nothing “graceful” about this guy. He has squandered everything he’s ever been given, including his talent. So not cool, Charlie.

  10. Since his October incident, Charlie looks like he’s about to kill over at any moment. It’s ridiculous on the show because he looks so sick compared to earlier episodes.

Feel bad for the others on the show and all who work on the show because they just lost their jobs.

  11. They need a replacement for 2 1/2 Men’s spot, so can The Big Bang Theory move there? I can’t fit it into my Thursday schedule but if it was on Monday like it used to be then that would be perfect.

    • you can watch big bang theory on CBS now. Just in case you didn’t know. They just started putting full episodes up.

    • The Big Bang Theory is a great show and could easily fill that spot. Two and a Half men was a great show but has been lacking the past 2 seasons in my opinion. Rules of Engagement is another gem I like.

  12. Sheens a trainwreck, but I loved his comments the other day about obama, and the tsa.

    • @790

DUDE, I just started watching LEXX, and was like “Holy crap, some guy on SR has that name and face for a gravitar!” Random, I know.

      • Isn’t LEXX the greatest show!

Hope your watching it in order,,,

  13. Hey Chuck! Here’s my pitch for an episode. That lovable reprobate Charley picks up a hot horny babe at the local bar and leaves his loser brother to enjoy a night of sex and booze. She turns out to be a serial killer who slashes him and leaves him for dead. Fortunately he survives but has to undergo extensive surgery. After half a season, the bandages finally are removed to show he looks like Matt LeBlanc. Highjinks ensue.

  14. Looks Emilio was the good one. Seriously, Charlie needs to get help but until he ADMITS to having a problem there’s nothing anyone can do. It’s sad. Really is. I’ll still the first two Major League movies though. And The WRAITH.

  15. So, Charlie Estévez is not a boyscout?

  16. Sheen < 0

    • Their real last name is estevez.

  17. The headline is just a little disingenuous. If anyone caused the show to shut down it was *Chuck Lorre*, not Sheen. Yes, Sheen made a series of brash, insensitive remarks over which Lorre was understandably irate. However, canceling the rest of the season was not the only inevitable conclusion. If the two had acted like grown men, they certainly could have worked out their differences and moved on with their work. Instead, Lorre took his ball and went home, and that was that. I’m not defending Sheen’s actions, just asking for a little journalistic honesty.

  18. “Fire breathing fists”?
This dipstick claims in another interview that he already has another show lined up on HBO, one that’ll pay him 5 mil an episode; the problem?

It came as news to HBO, who says this is the first THEY heard of this…so Chuckles Estevez now sets policy for HBO in the demented fantasyland between his two ears?

Paraphrasing the eminent philosopher Laurence Tureaud*, “I pity the foo’ that thinks like that; he makes MURDOCK look sane!”

    * Mr. T

  19. MMA Caged match: Charlie Sheen vs Chuck Lorre! Would probably get more hits than ‘Two and a Half Men’.

Not sure why a bunch of you feel sorry for the guy, he dug his own grave and continues to do so. I feel no sympathy for a man who can’t even cut his losses and accept he is in the wrong. The guy has talent, but he is showing his true colors now.

  20. Charlie Sheen should rename himself “Egypt”…because he’s got “da Nile” running all through himself…

  21. Sheen needs to make a choice. He either needs to pull he act together and go on with the show or put the thumbs down and end the show!

    • you missed the point. He has been holding up his end of the bargain.

He has been there for each taping on time, and delivered his performance appropriately.

outside of that, WB and Lorre have no call to make any demands of him whatsoever, provided he is not invoking thier name in his defense if/when he does something silly.

  22. The shows over.
    Sheen’s sueing CBS for 32mil.

  23. The guy has lost it.
