Okay i am a true hunnam fan and i believe he would be amazing for this role!! if u look at his earlier roles and look at him now he can make the changes that need to be made and he is an amazing actor!!

Thor needs to be Scandivavian in order for it to be believable. Therefore, Skardgaard is the near-perfect choice. You wouldn’t cast Jackie Chan as Captain America or Ethan Hawke as Black Panther, right? Josh Harnett and Charlie Hunnam are excellent thespians without question. However, the true Asgaardin Norsemen hail from Sweden (which is where Skarsgaard hails from), Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland; which is why an actor from Scandinavia needs to play Thor. SKOL!!!!

PS: And how anyone can be so for the idea of the very very unknown Skargard is beyond me, i mean, just because he look nordic and has long blonde hair!?! U can just as well cast Triple H! LOL!But I still like the idea of Sean Bean though, he does look like a rugged Thor and has the acting chops. All i’m saying is that if they do end up going with the left field choice and choosing Hartnett, don’t worry about it. They’ll probably pull it off. He rally isn’t a teeny popper choice, just look at the movies he’s starred in. They are not ure typical A-List commercial crap for ure average hollywood pretty boy type.

For all u Hartnett for Thor haters, I thought i’d put this together. I wathced 30 Days of Night last night (no pun intended, and not bad movie – kinda liked it) and in the scenes where Hartnett has a wee bit of a beard etc, I couldn’t help myself imagining him as Thor, and he did rather look the part. A bit of blonde dye and so on, and he’d be almost perfect. And he realy is a good actor. Again, and I know people use this example to the extreme, but Hartnett has almost the same history and reputation than Ledger had before TDK, and look how well that turned out. Now I still don’t necesarily think Josh is the best choice, that I don’t know, and am glad I don’t have to make that difficult choice (which explaines the delayes and extension in Branagh doing the same), but just thought these images would perhaps warm up a couple of u to the idea.

An interesting twist: Comic book artists I know are pointing out that the current iteration of Thor has armor over a lot of his body, which would allow costumers to build in musculature, sort of the way they have with Spiderman.

No, I can’t get behind Hunnam. Even if he were to work out and build some muscle, he just doesn’t have the natural build to pull off Thor convincingly.

Skarsgard’s taller, and he’s got much wider shoulders. He would need to work out for the part, too, but he has the right frame for the role.

I voted for Hunnam for this role as thor. Like I said, he deserves it, he’s pretty good and needs his name out there. He’ll take the role, definitely, and it’ll be a good movie for it.

I still think Skarsgard would be the best choice, but I think this dude would be a good second choice as well. As long as it’s a good movie, it really doesn’t matter, right?
