What, the Unit is gone? Shame!

Jimmy says:

any idea how many episodes medium was picked up for?

I’ll check on it Jimmy.

Andy S says:

I think Leno is going to get his butt kicked by the CBS lineup of 10pm shows.

dervish says:

No more Eleventh Hour? Oh, well, one less hour of network TV to watch. Now I’m down to 1/2 hour.

Marc Eastman says:

What are you talking about with Harper’s Island? The show is a one and done of 13 episodes, so it isn’t possible to get picked up for another season, and it hasn’t been pulled. It was off last Saturday, but that was preplanned, and it is back this Saturday.

Unless you have some other information, but CBS is currently claiming it’s on Saturday.

Marc,

Yes, your perspective is technically correct and I’m sort of confused too.

It was a 13 epi shot. Yes, they’re letting it run out its 13 epi’s on Saturdays but with very little support. The studio’s are calling it canceled. Which I guess means maybe someone was toying with the idea of more seasons if it payed off.

If a Prison Break can go on for 4 seasons, heck, anything is possible.

Gary says:

The plan was to bring Back Harpers Island with a different mystery and different characters if it took off.

Marc Eastman says:

Well, I’m not still not sure what “canceled” means, and I didn’t hear anybody call it canceled. And, on Gary’s comment, I talked to Turteltaub, and he was pretty solidly on the idea that it was a one shot deal. Maybe the network was going to go with it or something, but how would it make any sense?

Gary says:

The idea was to do a different 13 part anthology in that slot.
As I said they were not going to bring back the same storyline or characters
It would be another 13 part story that ends in the 13th week.

Jimmy says:

well seeing as you were taking so long i researched it myself… it’s coming back for 21 episodes! YES! better than the 13 NBC wanted to give it that’s for sure!

Barc says:

You’d think CBS (or, for that matter, any network) would be making enough off Survivor, and any of the other non-”acted” shows, like 60 Minutes and 48 Hours, that they could support the rest of the week’s shows that have actual acting in them.

Darren seeley says:

CBS. Home and hope of the spinoffs.

Kellie says:

CBS may have been shortsighted enough to cancel Eleventh Hour, but the Campaign to bring it back is not over. If you love EH like we do, check out this new link at our new site. There are still possibilities to save this show but we need each and every fan to help! CBS is not the only network out there, and there are also wonderful cable stations such as TNT and USA. Let’s find out which one is smart enough to grab this show up!

Gary says:

Kellie,
last I heard the cast was looking for work.
Its over.
Let it go.

Kellie says:

Gary,

Thanks for the laugh. I love rude people!

Vmaciv says:

I do not think any one has the right to tell anyone else to let anything go. CBS ignored 12 million fans and really never gave the 11th Hour a decent chance. I am part of a campaign to bring that show back. People look for work when networks cancel their show. They find work when the show is reinstated. I do not think this will happen at CBS but I am not sure it will not happen elsewhere.

Famke says:

Gary,

Of course the actors are looking for work …. that’s what actors do..ummm they “work”.

Just because Rufus Sewell does a movie for a few months has absolutely no bearing at all on his possible availability for returning to Eleventh Hour at a later time if it gets picked up by another network.

I for one wont “let it go” because I feel strongly that Eleventh Hour deserves more, and all the show’s 12 million viewers do as well.

The oddball thing about ELEVENTH HOUR is how well it WAS doing as far as capturing viewers because 10mil+ is not something to sneeze at, and CBS was using a poor excuse for cutting it.

I think it would have been much more up front if CBS had just come out and said it was too costly for them. (At least that’s my suspicion.)

ellie says:

I am from UK and Eleventh Hour is being aired at the moment. This is a great show, very different from the usual ‘drivel’ that we see. I cannot believe EH was cancelled by CBS, especially with such great viewing figures of 12 million each week!! They cancelled in the end due to financial concerns? Their loss I think. The show deserves to be picked up by another network and given a real chance to flourish because in my opinion, it is an intelligent and thought provoking show, something of which I have not seen for a very long time; 12 million people each week could not be wrong either in their choice of viewing, you don’t get those kind of figures for nothing.

Gary says:

Bruce ,
I got the feeling it was a budget thing too.

Denee says:

I am also involved in the Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign, because the show is well worth it. CBS really screwed up on cutting this one.

Tanya says:

I’M SO GLAD THAT CBS PICKED UP MEDIUM, I TRULY LOVE THIS SHOW AND LOOK FORWARD TO IT EVERY YEAR, THANK YOU CBS.

kimbo says:

eleventh hour and the unit were both great shows and should
have been put back on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle Ray says:

I’m still not over the cancellation of Joan of Arcadia and American Dream. Now I have to contend with the cancellations of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader and Life on Mars. Thank goodness CBS picked up Medium. I love that show.

Eleventh Hour Fan says:

Very disappointed that a thought provoking show (Eleventh Hour) was taken off the air. Instead they leave some hair brain shows instead. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

diana says:
