  1. No talk about The Day of the Doctor??? What!?

    • Unfortunately, due to scheduling, we recorded before the special had aired.

      • Well I look forward to listening your discussion on it next week! You guys should get Rob and Kofi to watch!

  2. Next weeks episode you guys should review the Day of the Doctor special since there’s no huge movies coming. I really wanna hear your thoughts Ben, as well as Anthony’s.

  3. @ Ben, a beautiful geekfest à la Avengers was what I expected before looking at this weeks programme… :( sad face Anyway, looking forward to a review that triggers my curiosity more than this teenmedia-gobblegobble: Oldboy! Yeah!

  4. Sooo looking forward to hearing this during my commute to work tomorrow.

I am sad that Hunger game is over and nothing else for me to look forward to till next year.
Having said that, this is first true imax experience where I wasn’t truly wow’d.(Ok, perhaps this was better effect than star trek but far below still the golden standard Ghost Protocol and then closely Dark knight rises and Dark knight).
Director was so focused on having entire arena fight shot in imax that he forgot to capture some of the scenes that should have filmed in true imax.

How would you like to see Katniss glowing in fire while entering the stadium(whatever that is called in their chariot) in full imax screen?

  5. Yes please. Day of the Doctor next week. I want to hear you (Ben) and Anthony…… Unpack the 50th.

  6. Sony should just do an Agent Venom movie. Oscorp creates the symbiote, it escapes and latches onto the serial killer Cletus Cassiday and becomes Carnage. Oscorp hires ex mercenary Eddie Brock to hunt him down. They give him a small portion of the symbiote, becomes Venom and there you have it. Then in Amazing Spider-Man 3 or 4 Spider-Man has to team with Venom to fight the Sinister Six. Make it happen.

  7. Box Office Battle:
    1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
    2. Thor: The Dark World
    3. Homefront
    4. Best Man Holiday
    5. Delivery Man
    10. 12 Years A Slave

  8. What about using the ‘steambox’? Does it work w/any console?

  9. I got into a pretty hefty argument in your wolverine costume article, lots of frustrated swearing on my part against someone who refused to think the costume was cool or would help the franchise in any way.
I mean, they have nothing really else but this. Also the armor will protect him logistically from bullets, in x2, hes knocked out for a solid minute from a bullet to the head, shouldve had that helmet. Plus hugh jackmans gettin old, a costume can hide his aging a bit.

  10. #1 Catching Fire
    #2 Frozen
    #3 Thor: The Dark World
    #4 Homefront
    #5 The Best Man Holiday
    #10 Free Birds

  11. I swear sometimes I have no clue on what you guys are talking about while reviewing things.

    • That may be because they keep things ambiguous until spoilers, problem is they sometimes forget the point or dont go back to it or talk as much about it post spoilers and it seems pretty mangled. Its why pre spoiler thoughts/comments should be brief.

      • that and they go on tangents.

    • Tay –

Can you be more specific? Do you mean you disagree with our points or is there something inherent to the way we approach the reviews that is making it hard to follow?

  12. After “The Wolverine” being a pretty straight-forward and surprisingly mature action movie with sci-fi/fantasy elements, putting Logan into a comic book costume like that would feel like a step backward, despite the goofy Silver Samurai finale. Nice fan service, but I reallyhope we will not see that costume in an upcoming movie. There is a reason why Marvel took Thor’s helmet away as well.

Preacher sounds awesome in concept, but I seriously doubt that it could maintain its necessary edge as a TV show.

I love Constantine. I don’t know the Hellblazer graphic novels, but the movie was great.

    • If Jackman suited up, it wouldn’t be in a character-centric Wolvy 3 – it’d be in one of the upcoming team-based films.

As for Thor, he’s in his full costume sans helmet 94% of the time he’s on screen :)

      • The costume isn’t the problem. It’s the helmet. Same thing with Wolverine. 😉

        • thors helmet wouldnt logically stay on his head with him flying around, wolvs helmets more encasing.

  13. Hunger games
    Thor 2
    Best man holiday
    Delivery man
    12 years a slave

  14. Best quote of the podcast: “Now, you’re confusing your own black people!” -Ben

    Box-office pick:
    1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
    2. Thor: The Dark World
    3. Homefront
    4. The Best Man Holiday
    5. Black Nativity
    10. Last Vegas

  15. Silly me, THIS is my pick:
    1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
    2. Frozen
    3. Thor: The Dark World
    4. Homefront
    5. The Best Man Holiday

    10. Last Vegas

  16. I think ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ tells nothing.
We can only look forward to The Hunger GamesIII better.
