Like combining peanut butter and chocolate, Disney and America's love of cars came crashing together this past summer as both worlds collided in Cars 2.
This time around the young racer Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) leaves the confines of Radiator Springs and heads out on a worldwide adventure as he competes in the World Grand Prix. The three-part race takes place in Japan, Italy and England and introduces the audience to a slew of new characters from each country. However, in true Disney/Pixar fashion, none of these new characters come across as "cookie-cutter" as each of them have their own unique style and personality. The World Grand Prix is full of interesting new characters from slick European race cars to NASCAR-inspired muscle cars, while each country gets its own cast of unique and interesting support characters.
The World Grand Prix isn't the only thing of interest in Cars 2, as the lovable tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) is handed a piece of valuable intelligence by the American spy Rod "Torque" Redline (Bruce Campbell), which thrusts him into a world filled with spies and villains.
On the following pages you will find pictures and descriptions of each of the new Cars 2 characters divided into categories. Enjoy them all then let us know in the comments who your favorite new character is.
well it really depends, keep in mind that while there are people who think its no good, I think its quite good.
I think it comes down to whether are u a fan or car, I mean do u love cars(eg auto-racing). I think people who are a fan or racing and cars will find this movie quite interesting..
Yeah seriously. I don’t see how this film can bloe people away like every movie they made after Cars 1. This is there most lucrative franchise with merchandise and all so I don’t think it can be a bust. Just don’t think it will register with aldults like there previous work
No. Did I say it was wrong? I just found it funny, didn’t you? I have some terrible grammar mistakes sometimes as well, English is not my native language.
Well, fine… sorry I guess? About HP, I really don’t know why I did that actually… I’m not even a troll, and I spoiled the end. But honestly, I think everyone knows how this is going to end, even if they haven’t read the book.
Calm down, people.
Pixar knows what they’re doing, so I lay my full trust in them. Besides, I’m in the mood for a nice spy flick and I strongly doubt this will be a critical flop. WE HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM YET.
I mean, it’s not like they’re becoming Dreamworks or anything….
I’m an animator and an illustrator… I love pixar to no end… though honestly I think that “UP” is their most overrated flick… it’s real good, don’t get me wrong… but I don’t think it really deserved all the praise it got. Anyone who didn’t like Wall-e simply doesn’t understand what they’re witnessing when watching it. That movie is a masterpiece of storytelling through animation. Nearly the entire movie is void of human dialogue. That is freaking incredible. Regardless if you like its going green message it’s a sight to behold. Just beautiful film making.
I appreciate all your guys’ opinions and acknowledge that “CARS 2″ will definitely be a great, if not entertaining film. However, noticing the faves and non-faves of Pixar watchers, I see that there is really no justice to ranking Pixar films in terms of genuine quality. (For example, Rickster Thunder, I think “WALL-E” is Pixar’s best film, the best film of ’08 (yes, over “THE DARK KNIGHT”), and my fave animated film of all time.)
Frankly, until Pixar produces a genuine flop (chances are they never will), I will never rank Pixar films EVER. Maybe give my fave (“WALL-E”), maybe my runner-up (“TOY STORY” Trilogy), but never all 11 (soon 12).
I think Pixar films (so far) are like the collection of films by a great director like Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick. Sure, they have weak and strong films, but OFTEN NO ONE WOULD DARE LAMBAST ANY ONE OF THEIR FILMS.
Also like a 4.0 student; you wouldn’t look back at that person and say, “Oh, that guy’s project in 6th grade was his weakest. I hate it.”
Pixar is the perfect film studio of today; as master filmmakers of weak/strong and strong/weak films, they shouldn’t receive hate or messages that say “they shouldn’t have made that film ever”.
That is why this hate towards “CARS 2″ is UNFAIR & CRUEL.
IT’S PIXAR; THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING – MAKING FILMS.
I really love Pixar. Really I do, but we’re all human, them included. And while I have often been wonderfully surprised at how they’ve taken concepts that I never imagined could work and created animated marvels out of them (cheering them on every step of the way), the vibe I get from Cars 2 is different from the “how are they gonna pull THAT idea off?” sensation I got based off of their past films based on new and untested concepts. The details being released feel less interesting and more… calculated.
I’m still going to see it because ever since the Incredibles I haven’t missed one of their films in-theater, but between Cars 2, the abandonment of at least one original concept/project in favor of a sequel, and a few other little behind-the-scenes dust-ups, I do get concerned that the Achilles’ heel of the successful might be coming in to play: hubris. The feeling that you can do no wrong, supported by a string of well-earned successes, can wreak havoc. It happens to brilliant minds not just in entertainment, but in all kinds of endeavors.
I hope this doesn’t sound like hating. It’s more a state of concern over a studio which has produced some of my favorite films of the last 20 years possibly getting a little complacent. I hope I’m wrong, but they are the ones who spoiled me in the first place, getting me to eagerly anticipate the excitement of an unknown and untested story, idea or universe. Seeing a sequel (good or not) just can’t compare to it.
Wall-e is awesome. I agree bugs life and cars are my least favorite. I know Pixar knows what there doing. Making a sequel because it’s a cash cow! There not making a sequel because they wanted to continue naters story. That’s why I feel this movie won’t have that BLOW me away factor like previous Pixar films. Not saying it’s going to suck.
I haven’t read harry potter and had no idea how it ended till I read you dumb
I can’t wait to see Holley Shiftwell, she was my favourite in the first movie. I am also really looking forward to see Francesco Bernoulli He looks hilarious.
I Loved to see the new cars movie but I a too old to see cars2 love cars & Cars Love Leak less (Claude Scruggs)#52 & Darrell Cartrip#17. I love cars ever sense it came out in the movies. Yeah! Go Claude Scruggs!

I am so happy to find this website! My 3 yr old son keeps asking over and over… “who’s this car?… who’s that car?”… and I don’t know! Now I know what all the car’s names are and finally can have some peace!! Thank you so much!!
Well I hate to be the one to point out the obvious but this movie is made by Pixar who despite the innuendo in thier films still makes movies for chidren. The fact that there are several adults criticizing a movie that is for my four year old, who loved it, is a little disturbing.Let’s spend our time on films that are actually created for adults not for children who could care less about what a bunch of jaded adults think.
and you guys thought TDKR had a big cast
Noooooooo Pixar why !
Yes, my sentiments exactly.
Could this be Pixar’s first critical flop?
it would shock me if someone read all this…

“Bloe” away? Really? =P
Is there something wrong with mispelling a word?
No. Did I say it was wrong? I just found it funny, didn’t you? I have some terrible grammar mistakes sometimes as well, English is not my native language.
Well its not funny and not worth pointing out. Then again you DID spoil the ending of HP….
Well, fine… sorry I guess? About HP, I really don’t know why I did that actually… I’m not even a troll, and I spoiled the end. But honestly, I think everyone knows how this is going to end, even if they haven’t read the book.
Its cool i mean i have spoiled some things without knowing as well. Some ppl are still guessing the ending of HP believe it or not lol

I trust pixar fully
I hope so. I’ve loved EVERY single Pixar movie (except for Bugs and Cars, which were good, but the rest are pure magic).
The weakest ones IMO have been Cars and Wall E. I loveee the rest so much

I hope all the original characters are back.
Many of them, just don’t hope for Doc Hudson to return… from the dead.
I can’t wait to see Holley Shiftwell, she was my favourite in the first movie. I am also really looking forward to see Francesco Bernoulli
