Captain Marvel is two years away and we haven’t heard who is directing it or who the villain is, but we did get a first look at the costume at the Marvel Open House event. Peyton Reed, director of Ant-Man and the Wasp, showed us concept art of keyframes for upcoming Marvel films, including like Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel.

This was our first glimpse of a concept picture Captain Marvel‘s Brie Larson in her Captain Marvel costume. For those of you wondering, in the concept art we did not see Brie Larson sporting the new Captain Marvel mohawk. Also absent was her new helmet, but the rest of her suit resembles very closely to her comic book counterpart.

The color scheme is the same as the current Captain Marvel costume, emblem and all. The major difference is that it seems to have plated armor, kind of like Batman’s Dark Knight suit. This fan art is the closest thing we were able to find that looks like the costume:

It’s more practical and layered, similar to the thicker Captain America MCU costumes, but more streamlined and space-y.

Also pictured in the concept art were two to other photos. One keyframe had Captain Marvel’s hand glowing as she stood heroically and the other she was fighting green robots in a city. Traditional comic book fans for Carol Danvers most recent comic book uniform will be pleased. Marvel Studios has done a great job of honoring the look and colors of her modern uniforms and it’ll be beautiful to see it on screen.

Captain Marvel will be breaking ground at Marvel Studios, being the first female lead character to carry a franchise. We still don’t have any director or other actors attached to this project but seeing that the concept art and keyframes of the film are already being worked on, Marvel should be releasing information very soon.
