The Marvels star Brie Larson displays her pull-up skills in a new training video. The Academy Award-winning actress for 2015's Room made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the Air Force fighter pilot, Carol Danvers, in 2019's Captain Marvel. Despite mixed reactions from audiences, the movie received mostly positive reviews from critics and grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, now one of 10 MCU movies to accomplish that feat. Thus, Marvel quickly began developing a sequel.

Larson's superhero showed up again in dramatic fashion during Avengers: Endgame and also made an appearance in a Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' credits scene this past summer. Her next solo outing will be the sequel officially titled The Marvels, which is currently scheduled for a release on February 17, 2023. As indicated by the title, Captain Marvel will be joined by the shapeshifting superhero, Ms. Marvel (Ian Vellani), a teenager named Kamala Khan who idolizes Danvers. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who also admired Danvers as a child in the first film, now returns after gaining powers in WandaVision. Park Seo-joon and Zawe Ashton have been cast in undisclosed roles, though the latter is reportedly playing a villain.

Now, Captain Marvel herself continues to showcase her superhero strength in yet another training video. The recent video posted across Larson's social media shows the actress performing one set of five chin-ups, which is certainly not an easy feat, as she "observes no holidays for training." Though The Marvels appeared to have wrapped filming late last month, nearly every Marvel Studios movie conducts extensive reshoots after finishing principal photography, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness being one recent, albeit extreme, example. Therefore, Larson will have to stay in peak physical shape for a little while longer so there is no noticeable difference in the final product. Given The Marvels' release date is still a ways away, director Nia DaCosta and company will have plenty of time to finish the film, not to mention the multiple MCU movies releasing in the meantime to keep fans occupied.

This training video is just the latest testament to how much work actors put into staying in shape for their superhero roles, especially Larson. She has documented many of her workouts on social media and will likely continue to do so throughout her tenure in the MCU. In the end, hopefully The Marvels is worth all of Larson's hard work.
