I’m going to keep this brief, because I know Vic, the bigger Star Trek geek than I, will comment more. Anyway, Captain James T. Kirk will be played by Chris Pine (that’s him in the Photoshopped picture as Kirk), who Vic reported was having to make a decision between Kirk in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek re-launch, or the 1950s-set crime drama White Jazz with George Clooney.
We now have everyone cast, except Bones, so I’m looking forward to hearing who’ll be playing the doctor (and not a _____). Details on Scotty and Sulu casting plus more details, including the villain casting.

I already posted my thoughts on Pine as Kirk in one of the links above. I’ve never seen him actually act so it’s hard for me to form too much of an opinion. I’m just really curious to see who they go with for McCoy now that the biggest casting decision (Kirk) has been taken care of.
I hope I like their choice for McCoy… right now I’m fairly pleased with their choices except for Simon Pegg as Scotty.

Wow! He certainly looks the part…..
the rumor right now on Mcoy is Karl Urban.
Its not official yet, but right now urban is the only name out there .
over at AICN they are calling it almost a done deal, still nothing official yet .
