    Who the 'bleep' is Richard Curtiz? If this source came from Variety, then there is one reporter that needs to brush up on their movie history before he is fired. The director of the 1935 version was Michael Curtiz not Richard. Also, The 'original' movie version of Captain Blood was first filmed as a silent in 1924. The 1935 version is certainly the definitive version, but it's by no means the original.

    As far as who can play Peter Blood in this pointless remake, they should go for an unknown. Errol Flynn was a virtual unknown at the time he got the part and it made him a star. I think they should keep that tradition going.

    No, I don't think they should cast one of the "big names" for that one. Especially not Cruise or Bloom!

    Find a new face and give the story a chance to develop without the audience knowing all the time that the protagonist will turn out as "the hero".
