If they do not make Capitan America, ultra over the top super american hero. It will fail.

Capitan America stand for the best that we all claim to feel. Freedom, and justice. He epitomizes the phrases “land of the free, and home of the brave.” if he waivers for one second on this, it will tank. The people that love Cap, dont love him for his super-powers, they love him for his idealism.

Set it in WWII, and have him fight the red skull. American Patriotism is not a dirty word, hollywood. DO IT RIGHT!

The Captain America movie is my most anticipated film ever. I have a vested interest in Cap above all others. He gave me my sense of patriotism and the knowledge that win or lose some battles need to be fought. I mangled many a trashcan lid (when they were metal) around the neighborhood knocking my friend “Spidey” off of ropes hanging off the side of two story buildings. That’s right, we’re old school and very serious about our play; how ‘cool’ we looked being our favorite heroes. I have loved the IronMan, Spider-Man, and Hulk movies. I hope to see Cap’s movie be as big a success as IronMan, the writers need to remember men of the WWII era had a different mindset about everyday life than men of today and that needs to come across in the film. Would make for some interesting interaction between Rogers and Stark. Also, Rogers NEEDS to be blonde-haired and blue-eyed, because Hitler was promoting these traits as characteristics of the superior Aryan race. The originators of Captain America included these traits in Cap to present an archtype that stood for freedom of all men, democracy, and morale decency that would remove the evil connotation of these characteristics. In short, Captain America was the epitome of what this country stood for in the era he was created and I think deep down it remains the same.

here’s what i really don’t get…why are they even looking to some hollywood hacks when their best writers are under their nose!!what you mean to tell me that Bendis and Co. can’t write a script???They write one every season for every series they do!! For a company as self-contained as Marvel, to waste money and time searching for no-name talent on a possible 100+million movie ticket, seems shortsighted….They obviously had an idea of what they were doing with Iron Man, especially when it came to float ideas between the writers…i just don’t understand why they would go that route with trying to hire outsiders, unless its possible that no one at Marvel knows how to write anything at all….pretty unbelieveable…You’d think they would look at their rival studio’s current situations: Warner Bros.,even tho they had a huge hit with Dark Knight, are still holding their pocket book tight on any future superhero flix and are still deciding on how to finish the Harry Potter franchise without losing money..Fox wants it all, but is stuck with a handfull of copywrites to Marvel characters that aren’t making any money for them at the moment..Hopefully,they won’t lose on ‘Wolverine”….

Oh, the French. Good stuff, sir. He would make a great Green Lantern flick, agreed. But he is sadly very underrated and by the time this comes out, the Green Lantern may already be well underway, and it’ll be too late after so many people eat their words cuz Joe is the Junk.(How’s that for a T-shirt?!) Bucky can be included, but, as the real Captain was the only super-soldier, Bucky should be mentioned in no bigger capacity than Cap’s friend and fellow soldier. He is no super-hero, and certainly no Captain America.

Yeah, Rocketeer is a great flick. I forgot Johnston directed it. Gives me some more faith about the Cap film. It’s amazing how close the plot of Rocketeer is to Green Lantern. I mean, it’s GL without the ring. Johnston could probably make a killer GL film but I’m cool with him on Cap. Do you think Bucky should be in the Cap film? Perhaps as a fellow soldier? Ultimates is definitely great material for the guys making the Cap film to check out. I love how tough Cap is in that, and that he doesn’t care about offending people lol. Remember what he told us about the french (not that I have a problem with france lol)? LOL. The guy’s wearing the american flag, of course he’s gonna be opinionated.

Good call on the false Cap pictures(AKA Bucky-who in no way is Cap). And agreed on the Saving Private Ryan feel for the battle scenes. I mean, I think they should use the first issue of Ultimates as a reference, and build the origin story behind it then end it with him being frozen. I am very excited Joe Johnston is directing. Watch the Rocketeer. Its like Captain America stealing Iron Man tech basically. Haha, love it.

This news is meh, but I hope they can knock it outa the park. Cap needs to be as close to “Saving Private Ryan” as a PG-13 movie can get.

Haha. Good call. I enjoy handholding, knitting, and sometimes just feel the need for a good cry. Aha. Sorry, that’s just a dream I’ve had since I was four. I used to take my mom’s pot lids and run around the house and pretend I was Cap and it was my shield. I’ve always wanted to be him, and I learned when I was in 6th grade I wanted to act, so combine the two, and this would be my life’s dream!

Lemme play Cap. I am an actor(granted no one outside of the immediate area has never heard of me) but unlike G.K. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, I’m 6′1″, 20 years old,(23 by 2011) and the Captain is my favorite hero. I was born in the wrong era, as I’ve always loved the forties. I’m very old-fashioned, and most consider my integrity geeky. Um…other than that, the only other qualifications I have is a knowledge of the character, and a passion to play him. I was born for the role. I will commit the next three years to first losing the weight to play Steve(right now I’m about 185) and then gain the weight back, plus some in muscle. Let’s do it!
