  1. All I can say is WOW! Hope that’s not a spoiler.

  2. Amazing, simply amazing

  3. Did anyone think that when Cap found Bucky tied to the table, that it was the start of his brainwashing into Winter Solider?

    • Yeah I thought the same thing!!!

      • Yeah, this seemed an obvious set-up for Bucky to return in the Captain America sequel.

  4. So what was Red Skull’s plan? It looked like he was just going to bomb a bunch of cities with blue stuff. It never seemed very super-villainy. It was one dude in one big plane. If we could have stopped the Japanese air force we could have stopped one big plane.

    • Yeah, but he had those flyer guys. I think they could have gotten in without detection because they were so small. That blue energy was powerful enough to decimate Howard lab. What irks me, is the fact that it didn’t explode on contact when cap crashed landed?

      • Exactly and why the hell Cap did not escape even before impact or run to the back of the plane which was sticking out of the ice, lame ending there to set up for the Avengers movie.
Speaking of flyer guys,Cap was in one of Red Skulls small plane after throwing out the pilot. How did Red Skull know Cap was inside his own plane to fire at it? Super vision maybe “sigh”.
Red Skull was also under used as a villain.
Anyway I recommend this movie 3 out of 5,nothing new but fun.
Apologies for the spoilers on the Cap. review section but I saw the movie on Wednesday.

        • weak writing? im mean they had to get him to be frozen but ya do think it could have been done it differently. oh well.

      • Stark’s lab was destroyed when he applied electrical energy to the blue orb. Besides, when the plane crashed the cube and it’s energy was gone. So there was nothing left to explode.

  5. Did anyone else notice The Human Torch in his glass tube at the Expo???

    • I was just about to mention that lol

    • Was it the human torch? I didn’t notice, people laughed when they saw that.. but I didn’t get it lol

      • It was definitely the original Human Torch — a “synthetic man” in a vaccuum tube, to keep him from bursting into flame.

    • when did it happen, I was trying to keep an eye out but never saw it :(

      • first time u see the stark expo. crane shot moving down and across to bucky and rogers. the glass tube in the center display

        • Dang it! Cool THX! Be looking for it next time :)

  6. Is it me, or was Red Skull transported to Asgard? That’s how it appeared to me. Perhaps to run into Loki???

    • Hoping that’s what happened. It would be great if he was in the Avengers too.

    • Maybe, because all he did was devise his plans and run away from a fight, could be a set up to the Avengers movie the way he just teleported or whatever out of there without a real deal showdown with Cap.

      • Maybe Thor ans Skull were swapped…… The general concensus is the cube brings Thor back.

  7. Anyone notice references to starwars and Indy?

    • I did, ZZ :-D

      Especially during the end battle.

    • Yup saw it all around:

The Motorcycle chase = Speeder chase in ROTJ
When Skull said “Hitler is looking for trinkets in the desert”
The Hydra soldier getting killed via airplane propeller

      thats all I saw

      • Skull’s plane shoots at the bomb-plane Cap has hijacked and the shot of the plane lasers shooting is straight out of Star Wars’ X-Wing vs. Death Star battle.

        • Hi Mr.Reviewer.Why avoid my post above, care to comment please.

        • Not to mention the classic Wilhelm Scream, which is known for being in every Indy and Star Wars film.

  8. Okay, I didn’t read any of the comments yet since I’m not seeing the film until tonight, but I just noticed that it’s running time is only 125 minutes. Why don’t these studios do it right and add the additional 20 or 30 minutes to make these kinds of movies about Iconic figures correctly?!

At least it’s over 2 hrs. If it had been like 100 minutes, I don’t even think I would bother to go see it.

    • For the length it was pretty good, you won’t even notice it.

  9. Yeah I heard the original human torch from the invaders was in there!

  10. The end credits were long as H*ll but the AVENGERS preview afterwards was well worth the wait!!!

    • The Avengers trailer was a real treat. For a split second there, I didn’t think they’d have anything special at the end of the film, and then that showed up. The whole theater went nuts.

    • there was no avengers preview

      • Yes, actually there was. The Avengers preview ran as the post closing credits extra scene you always get on Marvel movies. you shouldn’t have walked out during the credits.

    • haha yea the credits were soooooo long, but def still worth the wait

  11. I thought the movie could have used another 15 minutes. I thought Red Skull was underused and we could have used at least one more scene to really hash out his character and better explain his reaction to the serum.

Also, I think Cap could have used one more scene with his girl and him as Steve Rogers. I thought they had good chemistry.

Other than that, hell of a period piece movie. Action was great and the Avengers trailer was awesome.

  12. I wish it had been Iron Man or Thor who caught up with Cap at the end of the movie instead of Fury. But the after credits scene was pretty sweet, “Nice swing”. ;-)

Totally agree about the Bucky brainwashing setup for Winter Soldier. If they do that story line in the movies it will be a shame that they won’t be able to use Logan but I hope we get a young Black Widow in there!

    • totally agreed Stark/Ironman would have made much more sense given the history between Stark Sr and Capt. stupid question but is the english woman Stark’s mother? Guess they did end up doing fundue after capt apparent death.

  13. It’s funny but isn’t Steve still a virgin?

    • Well he was always waiting for the right partner as he said.. Then spent 70 years in ice.. So I’d say yes

  14. I didn’t catch the Star Wars refernce- what was it?

  15. Well…I’ve seen the movie and the Avengers tie-in last night. Bravo to Marvel Studios!
While it may not be great…its a good film and from the beginning until Steve saved Bucky, its a ***GREAT FILM!

The last chapter in *introductions of the *Big 3 to the general public.
    Now its a numbers game..lol!

  16. Did anyone get a Amazing Spider-man trailer with their showing of the movie? Because I didn’t sadly!

    • Javin- I saw the Spiderman trailer with our midnight show print

      • Did you watch it in 3D or 2D? Very weird that I didn’t see it on the print I watched.

    • Thank God I didn’t see that trailer. I totally enjoyed the trailers for Sherlock Holmes 2 and Tintin.

  17. Anyone else think that SHIELD agent at the end looked alot like Peggy?
    Sharon perhaps….

    • I didn’t think she looked anything like Peggy but had the 40s style down, I was laughing at the fact she called a “code 13″ when he escaped ;)

      • Hmm well theres speculation that its Sharon. I just hope it isnt because I want to see Hayley Atwell play her

        • Totally, want to see Atwell back!

  18. Did anybody else get a “Judge Doom” vibe from Red Skull early in the movie? It kinda felt like Weaving was channeling Christopher Lloyd for a moment there… Still, I enjoyed the heck out of Cap. The only thing missing was Cap using his agility to dodge like Blonsky in the Hulk movie. Would have been a nice callback.

  19. BUCKY DIED! WTF!

    • You never see him die, just fall. I’m sure they are setting up Winter Soldier.

    • BUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:’(

I spent the rest of the movie doing that when i saw it last night

  20. My friend said he thought the nurse at the end when Steve wakes up was Scarlett as black widow. I did not notice that. Did anyone else?

    • it wasnt scarlet. your friend may need glasses.

      • Thanks. That’s what I thought.

  21. Bucky is NOT dead! He will be back as The Winter Soldier. WOuld have loved seeing MORE of Cap being THAWED out, but maybe on the DVD. Good Movie as a whole. LOVED Tommy Lee Jones..:-D

  22. Red skull was definitely transported to Asgard he knew of Odin and his vault as mentioned in Norway, he will probably show up for the Avengers or another Cap movie, I thought they could have showed cap getting thawed out or at least his he looked in suspended animation, how did he instantly know how to fight. In the comics he was a master of several different fighting styles, also It really seemed Bucky was under going some sort of operation when Cap found him so Winter Soilder maybe? How did stark know where the cube was and how did he know it even existed ???

    • When Cap found Bucky, while he was doing a RECON he ran into the “batteries” and took one, that power cell that blew up in Starks lab was it. All he had to do was follow the power signature, remember this movie took place in like 3 years or something, Stark had time to look in to it.

    • Kenny
Cap knew how to fight because he got training before he was transformed, remember skinny Steve Rogers was enlisted.

      • He also had been fighting all his life. Because of his frail body, he never won but he definitely had experience.

    • He didn’t know where the cube was he just happen to pick up on it cause he was looking for captain America that’s why he told the guys too keep looking after they got to the point where they lost cap signal

      • He knew about the cube because Steve had taken that piece of the harnessed energy when infiltrating the first HYDRA compound. Remember Stark later studying the tiny spec and getting blown across the room? He must’ve later found the cube and simply made the connection that it was the source of the energy he was studying before. But he didn’t care about that. Hence, he continued the search for Steve. But apparently he did get his use out of the cube! (The Arc Reactors)

    • Yeah, that was done so Red Skull could return in a third film perhaps.

  23. • stark followed the same energy signature from the energy clip capt america brought back. it let them to the cube. they were hoping to find the wreckage clearly they never did.

      • They didn’t find the wreckage, but I’m glad they found the cube. They could keep it safe at least for a while.

  24. 25. How did Stark know where the cosmic cube was and how did he know it even existed ???

  26. How did Red skulls face get like that? They never explained it other than “the serum makes bad worst and good better” & wasn’t Nick fury supposed to be apart of the Howling Camandos ?

    • In comic book world when you are evil, it consumes you… that’s what he was trying to say, so that evil took over and disfigured him. They probably left out Fury because it would take more time to introduce another character, probably would take another hour to introduce that backstory.

    • yeah but then they wouldve had to add the whole serum that keeps him young thing and that would be a bit much

    • Kenny
The serum wasn’t perfected yet when Red Skull got it.

    • If Nick Fury was part of the Howling Commandos, we could assume his age to be around 20. If he was 20 in 1942 then he would now be 88 years old… Samual L. Jackson doesn’t look 88. And I don’t think an 88 year old would still be directing SHIELD and putting The Avengers together. He would more likely be laying in hospice watching The Price is Right eating apple sauce.

      • I believe the Nick you are referring to was a caucasian. The Nick Fury that we are seeing on the screen is an Ultimate Nick Fury which if memory serves me correctly has a bit of the Super Soldier formula in him.

What you say? But Steve was the only one…… well it could be twisted that while the Military (Tommys character reminded us a few times that HE/the military was in charge) was doing their tests SHIELD was in its infancy doing it also to counter HYDRA.

There is always room for one more secret Government organization.

    • They did explain it. The scene where the Red Skull gets the serum injected, his face starts to burn & boil away on-screen.

  28. Someone kill Kenny…;) Just kiddin, but dude…multiple posting can get a tad tiresome.

  29. That was a South Park ref, by the way…
