New fan art from ApexForm shows what Charlie Hunnam would look like as the MCU's Captain America. In the Marvel world, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America is a fan favorite Avenger. Many consider the Captain America movies to be among Marvel's strongest. In fact, Captain America: The Winter Solider is almost universally beloved, especially for its fight sequences and impact on the MCU. The relationship between Steve and Agent Peggy Carter is also a standout, despite the two only sharing substantial screen time in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Evans' time as Captain America is over for now, however, Steve passed his shield on to his best friend Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Though he's been known as Falcon thus far in the MCU, the upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Solider will see Sam wrestle with the Captain America mantle. The show will also focus on Sam's relationship with Steve's childhood friend Bucky Barnes. However, it turns out the two won't be friends at the start of the series. As of now, The Falcon and the Winter Solider will debut in August on the streaming service.

Fan artist ApexForm created the image of Charlie Hunnam as Captain America. Hunnam hasn't yet starred in a superhero movie, though he does bear a resemblance to Evans. After 20 years in the business, he's best known for his work on the FX drama Sons of Anarchy. Hunnam starred as Jackson "Jax" Teller, a leader in a motorcycle club. The series, which ended in 2014, was nominated for several awards throughout its seven-season run. Check out the image of Hunnam as Captain America below:

With Sam's journey as Captain America only just beginning, the possibilities are endless for the superhero. The Disney+ shows in general mark a turning point in the MCU, with the first true integration between Marvel movies and TV shows. In the past, the relationship has functioned as more of a one-way street, with shows like ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. forced to reference the movies, while the movies essentially ignored the shows. However, that will all change with Disney+ show WandaVision especially, which will have a direct impact on the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Unfortunately, it isn't yet known if Sam Wilson will appear as Captain America on the big screen.

Despite not having a Marvel connection just yet, it's easy to imagine Hunnam as Captain America or another superhero. Plus, with Disney's acquisition of Fox, many more Marvel characters are now available and ready to be incorporated into the MCU. Since it will still be several months until fans see Sam suit up as Captain America, for now they can enjoy imagining what Hunnam would look like in the role.
