I actually looked him up and watched some things he'd done, and I think he would be great as Cap. If only they'd go the RDJ way on this one and not the “youngish” way they seem to be going.

There are a lot of reasons why people might disagree with my choices, but I would love to see Alex Skarsgard or Sam Worthington as Cap. I know, I know.

Hate to say it but that would be Brad Pitt. Many people are against it but ya gotta think the chemistry with Ed Norton,RDJ and Samuel Jackson. Who else could handle screen time with these guys and not get out performed. The “he's too old now,excuse can't be used anymore cuz he can easily made to look much younger” sans Benjamin Button. I'm all for an unknown but i'm skeptical on any unknown being able to be on par with RDJ's acting ability and writing is not everything, a good actor can make even the worst writing sound great and great writing can lose it's potential cuz of sub-par acting.

Why do you say the one cast as Thor is an unknown? Captain Kirk from the new Star Trek, right?? He isn't really unknown, just not an A list star… I don't remember his name though haha so maybe he is unknown.

As for Cap… Aaron Eckhart might be cool, but… I don't know. I like him as Harvey Dent and don't want him to go over to the Marvel side personally. I think they need to get someone who used to be really popular and then dropped off the face of the earth, such as Robert Downey Jr.!
Nobody talked about RDJ anymore until after Iron Man, and now look at him! Same with Mickey Rourke. They need to take someone we forgot about and push him back into the spotlight.

Good Day All!
I'm still hoping for Mark Valley. When we all hear the name finally, some of us will probably groan or jump for joy! Just wait.... either way....

With the costume that is such a HUGE Icon, the man chosen must truly 'be' Captain America and show the strength the character has as well as the conviction.

It might be the 'right' actor, it might not be....

We will all know for sure when the costume is on, the shield held and the eyes look right in the camera....

then... we will all know... if we truly have a living and breathing 'Captain America'.

I wasn't the biggest fanboy of captain america until i read some of the Civil War graphic novels. There was one part when shield first turned against him and he leaps off one of those flying aircraft carriers onto a jet, digging his shield into the glass over the cockpit.
