‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Falcon Featurette and Stylized Posters

Published 4 months ago by

Captain America: The Winter Soldier might technically be a standalone movie for the first Avenger, but that doesn’t mean that he’s the only superhero in it – or even the only Avenger. While Thor and Tony Stark have been off on their own adventures since deflecting the attack on New York, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff have remained in the ranks of SHIELD as highly effective agents, and in The Winter Soldier they are joined by Sam Wilson AKA Falcon.

Anthony Mackie has said that Black Widow and Falcon are not Captain America’s sidekicks, but that the three of them instead have a very solid working relationship, each with their own individual skill sets. Since The Winter Soldier will be Sam Wilson’s first outing in the Marvel cinematic universe, the studio has released a new featurette, introducing the character to audiences who might not be familiar with the comics.

It’s an exciting look at the movie with some behind-the-scenes footage of Mackie in his specially-designed flight suit, but a lot of Marvel fans are probably already at maximum hype potential for The Winter Soldier. Early buzz from screenings has been overwhelmingly positive, with a lot of people saying that it’s one of the best Marvel movies so far.

For those who enjoy the movie so much that they want it immortalized on their walls, ComingSoon has revealed some new stylized character posters in black and red. Check them out below.

The posters look not unlike comic book covers, but so far Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been described more as a political thriller than a superhero movie. Mackie even says as much in the Falcon featurette, calling it a “character-driven action movie.”

Considering how useful it is to have a guy around who can fly and fire a gun at the same time, it’s likely that Sam Wilson could become a recurring character in the Marvel movies. Who knows, maybe he’ll even end up with an Agents of SHIELD guest appearance down the line.

  1. HURRY SR!!!

    CAP 3 VS BVS

    ITS ONNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

  2. Still didn’t fix Falcon’s wonky waist.

    • Seriously?? Thats your big complaint? His wonky waist? Go back to reading the comics and let those of us who have been waiting 20 years for our favorite comic heroes to actually be taken serious. Be glad we have these great movies finally. Im loving every movie even green lantern!! Keep em comin!!! Btw thank you screenrant for all the updates!

  3. That was pretty badass.

  4. I think this movie is looking pretty good. Cap and BW, of course, and although I wish Falcon had his red and white comics costume, he still was looking good and flying high in the clips I saw.

  5. A lot of red in there. Possible hint?

  6. The Winter Soldier’s design is just too awesome

  7. The Falcon looks like he will be a stand out character in this film.

  8. how can i buy them…the BW is perfect for the nerd den

  9. I tried to puzzle piece these together and it was a no go, but did anyone else notice that Fury and Pierce each have their own, different SHIELD logo? I’ve seen both before, but don’t know if there is any significance from one to the other. Just something of interest I’m curious about.

    • Yup, and Redford’s logo is the only one with curved lines. I think we have all known the spoiler since Redford was cast. At least, I think I know it.

  10. I think that the symbol behind Robert Redford’s character is the H.Y.D.R.A. symbol. I think he may be up to no good.

  11. I’d like to see the Falcon get some upgrades to his suit eventually. Not necessarily in style but in weaponry. Maybe Stark or T’Challa could do somethings for him. Maybe by his next appearance. The Uzis are fine for now. Not complaining.

  12. Saw it… lived up to all my expectations, I love they are closely following the comic
not completely but closer than most of the movies I have seen! Great job, I was in the theater swinging my fist and moving around as the action was commencing, it really brings you into the movie! I loved it.
