No wonder why people ask me why i waste my time on here, lol Now i know.

…and yet you “waste your time” making “witty” remarks like that? Good luck with your side-job as a comedy writer.

I like Screen Rant. It’s a good site. But I’m biased.

iceman, angel, beast & marvel girl-dont forget about them in x-men4. these characters need more exposure & recognition and wolverine is not the entire x-men team.not even an original member of the team when they were first created in 1962

GUNSMITH says:

I RATHER SEE ZACK SNYDER DO X 4.BRING ON APOCOLYPSE

The Pitt Man says:

If cyclops is to return from the dead and be in X-Men 4, then one possible route for justification could be his brother.

Havok “senses” his bro’s presence, and finds him in a cocoon at the bottom of the lake. Like the one Marvel girl was placed in by Phoenix, and found by Reed Richards/Angel in X-Factor #1.

Now we have Scott and Alex Summers in the x-men, great brother dynamics happening there.

It would also be possible to then push the brothers towards a Madelyne pryor/Mr. Sinister/Inferno storyline as both Cyclops and Havok fall for the same Jean clone. Heck, even Wolvie would be pining for her.

If Ratner hadn’t killed Scott, the whole thing would be a smoother fit… but what the hey, the movie x-men are backed into a corner and only a writer with a vast depth of knowledge in X-men history is capable of finding a way out of this one.

Thanks Brett, for trying to nail the coffin on the X franchise. Stick to Rush Hour and leave the mutants to someone that actually respects the comic.

M-Cat says:

good thoughts Pitt Man, i like it. and see how much work has to be done just to get the franchise back to normal after that idiot Ratner screwed it all up. you have to try pretty hard to be that bad of a director.

The Pitt Man says:

@ M-Cat

wasn’t there even one dude on the set of X 3 saying, “Yo rat, you know no one can make any more x-men movies after what you’ve done.” ?

Rat responds as Dr. Evil, “I know! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

Maybe Singer can get it back on track, but i think if another trilogy is planned, a fresh director is what’s needed. Someone edgier, less safe.

A new vision, with a new long-term 3 film plan. Something that culminates in an Inferno/Mutant Massacre/Fall of the Mutants/Age of Apocalype/Days of Future Past style finale.

Nothing is impossible and even Cyclops is not absolutely necessary, BUT resolving his apparent screen death is!

Some of my favorite X-Men stories were during their hard times – post-cyclops. Like when Storm led with no powers, or when they were on the run and living like banditd in Australia. Especially when the Revers caught up to them. Wolvie crucified on an X would look great on screen.

@ chrisj,

“No wonder why people ask me why i waste my time on here, lol Now i know.”

Really? If this is truely a waste of time for ya, and you feel like advertising it as such, please don’t come back.

Have you had a chance to read what you wrote again yet? What people ask you about what sites you go on?

Justin says:

Bryan Singer already stated clearly that he doesnt care what we think. there is no point even debating this or voting on some stupid pole. Fans are no longer in control of their fanship. Plain and simple. So commenting on this is a waste of time including what I’m writing right now. Just dont pay to see the movie then we’ll see what these guys say.

chris says:

i hope he returns and does x-4 ,and x-5 back to back, adds the sentinels, beak, chamber, husk, sinister, apocalypse, and gives more story to cyclops, iceman, nightcrawler, gambit, colossus, angel, and rogue.i hope singer returns.

Claude says:

The way Brett and X-3 have been crucified on Screen rant you’d think it was the worst movie on the planet. These days you can’t even daresay you fancied the movie. Or dare whisper that The Dark Knight movie wasn’t all that. Last I checked, ’twas a free country and I, for one, liked X-3 especially the fight scene which led to Magneto’s demise. Beast adaptation was great and so was Angel’s brief stint. I liked Xmen and Marvel comics growing up, but I’m liberal enough to separate comics from the movies. If we want ‘mythos verbatim’ lets stick to the comics and wait for the cartoon adaptation.

Oh, and Rob, I don’t think X1 was way ahead of X3. X2 yes, but X1’s final battle was an anti-climax.

Claude says:

sorry Prof X’s demise

790 says:

@Claude, yeah I did like the demise of Xavier…
That was prob the best scene in the film… ;-)

chrisj says:

@ Claude
Im glad im not the only one with a open mind on movies. Thought i was the only one who liked X3.

M-Cat says:

chris j

if i don’t like X3 that means I don’t have an open mind? yeah, you’re a thinker.

chrisj says:

@ M-Cat
Come now, its not like i mentioned you by name. Nothin to take personal. I meant it in the nicest way.

GUNSMITH says:

X 3 WAS OK, THEY CHANGED THINGS GENERATIONS OF FANS NEW BY HEART AND KILLED OFF PEOPLE WE LOVED, WICH IS COOL, HECK CHARACTERS GET KILLED AND BROUGHT BACK ALL THE TIME..THE FILM WAS OK, IT WASN’T AWSOME..IT WAS OK-I MEAN HE’S FOLLOWING X1 AND X2..WHOEVER TOOK UP THE RIEGNS WOULD BE UNDER HI SCRUTINY.IT COULD HAVE BEEN WAY BETTER THOUGH

chrisj says:

@ GUNSMITH
I agree. It people read the comics, it shouldnt be a surprise or big deal to kill off characters like Cyclops, Jean Grey, & Prof. Xavier. And while X3 wasnt the greatest, it doesnt have to end there.

chrisj says:

If people read the comics, is what i meant.

Sonic Assassin says:

I would rather see a new director. Doug Liman would bring fresh intensity and action to the super hero genre.

I have hundreds of X-men comics dating back to the 60s and would love to see character continuity bought into line.

Whilst the last three films captured the general essence and atmosphere of the books, character ages and continuity plots are all over the place.

I guess you have to expect some deviations from the original source material with Hollywood interpretations as they are targeting a broad market; many of whom have never read the comic books.

Bring back Cyclops, Jean Grey, & Prof. Xavier with Angel, Iceman and The Beast. Cyclops should be portrayed as a strong and powerful team leader, not as a wimp.

Havoc, Storm, Colossus and Banshee ought to be better developed as well.

As much as I love Wolverine as a dark brooding character, for me he’s become a little over exposed and over rated. Take a back seat pal.

Ofana33 says:

Wow, you all do go on.

I liked X3. I haven’t read through the comic series in earnest in a good 10 yrs. I am a huge fan of Wolverine and Gambit and in truth, IMO, all of the X-men movies have been good enough that i just want more. I dont care who makes it…well, i do care, but so far, IMO, it has not been a stink fest.

Go Bryan or any1 else with love for the series and talent to prove it.

chrisj says:

@ ofana33
Im glad you enjoy the films like i do. What i mean is i wouldnt let one film get me down from more sequels being made. Its like the original Halloween movies, i have all of them on dvd except for part 3 because Michael Myers isnt in it. But that one film doesnt keep me from watchin all of them. I read some of the comics, watched two of the animated series etc. I hope Singer returns to direct a 4th film cause the first two films rocked while X3 was ok as a sequel.

noble says:

Heres who should be added/returned to X-4,

Beast,Storm, Havoc,Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Wolvie,Cyclops, Prof.X,Jean,Rouge,Forge,Emma,Gambit, Apocalypse,Sinister,Colossus,Magneto, The Brotherhood(from the new X-men cartoon), and Magneto’s girls, Polaris and Scarlet Witch.

chris says:

i really hope singer does x-4,and if he does it would be cool to see him dox-4,and x-5 back to back so all the characters get story and screen time.
