Today we finally have the official trailer for Surrogates!
Bruce Willis’ upcoming action sci-fi thriller is based on the 2005-06 comic series of the same name (but with “the” in front) where in the future, people live their lives through remote-controlled robots (the Surrogates). The story follows Agent Greer, played by Willis, who must leave his home to investigate the murders of other Surrogates and their respective users.

Watch the trailer and see what you think:
If you saw the footage that was revealed online the other week, most of what was shown there between the interviews shows up in this trailer. The trailer looks cool but isn’t very exciting. I get a strong sense of the style we saw in Minority Report (loved that movie!) and I, Robot while watching this and it therefore doesn’t come off as something unique or special.
What really worries me is that this movie looks alright from the trailer but I think the final full product may be very underwhelming (the same way I felt about Terminator 3 which was directed by the same guy, Jonathan Mostow). Most of the effects look polished but everything else (from the story, drama and excitement to the action) is a little bland.
It certainly has potential and I hope it’s good as I’ll definitely be seeing it.

Nothing like opening a trailer with a blindingly obvious “this effect was reversed” scene (skin going onto the face of the robot, obviously shot with the lab tech REMOVING something from the face).
Other than that, yeah – trailer looks good but it has kind of an “I, Robot” feel to it.
And what’s with the Perez Hilton hair on Bruce Willis?

It does look to be pretty good, but having Jonathan Mostow as the director does worry me.

I’m gonna see it, dammit Jonathan Mastow knows how to make me go see his movies, first it was because it was Terminator and Arnie was in it, now it’s because Bruce Willis is in it. This one better be good this time because T3 was horrible…
I think that ALL the surrogates are supposed to have a kind of fake look about them – hence the weird looking hair/wig. I’m in two minds about the trailer. Firstly, I’ve been looking forward to this for a while and so it’s good to actually see something. But, I think the trailer gives too much away.
The whole idea of The Surrogates is a pretty intelligent one and the movie could of been darker but, like you guys say, it has the ‘Feel’ of I Robot and Minority Report so it could be a bit too mainstream. I dunno, I’ll definitely see it though – and i know I’ll end up owning it on DVD (or Bluray… BUT only if it’s good!)
Why would they give away the story in the trailer? The book was different with a nice twist halfway through.
I saw the trailer for the first time last night and was so confused. It looks like another Matrix type of movie but even more confusing. It didn’t leave me wanting to know more about the movie even though Bruce Willis is kick ass.

I have been a fan of Bruce Willis for years and I will be seeing this. Just because a movie looks like it’s been done is not a problem. The movie Taken showed a plot we’ve seen a billion times, but it was still an awesome movie. Hopefully people go see it.

This trailer is very cool. Can not wait for the movie. As far as an “I, Robot” feel. I don’t get that sense.

Bruce Willis is the man. This movie will be worth seeing/owning. I’m so glad Bruce is getting back into some action a little bit.
@Bob, and he might be in the Expendables, the more the merrier… Damn, I do seem gay for Bruce Willis don’t I??
Does anyone remember the movie “The Jackal”? Bruce was in that one too as a hit man for hire. I swear he is wearing the same wig in Surrogates that he wore for one of his disguises in Jackal.
