tron Bruce Boxleitner Joins Tron 2.0The newest (and very welcome) piece of news on Tron 2 (or Tron 2.0 which thankfully it looks like will be the title they’re going to go with) is that actor Bruce Boxleitner, who played the title character in the original film, has been cast (according to reports he’s actually currently filming his role).

He will join already announced cast members Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett.

It seems likely he will renew his role as the title character. With all this news of actors from the first film being in the sequel as well as the name it looks like they’re really aiming to make this film true to the original.

I’m glad of this; I was afraid they would package it for today’s audiences all the while practically forgetting about the first one.

What do you think of this news? Happy to see yet another cast member return for the sequel?

  1. Yes Captain Sheridan returns. Now if we can only get some more Babylon 5 (good well funded Babylon 5 not the $2.00 crap Lost Tales JMS whored himself out with)

More Bruce is always a good thing!!!

  2. Lord Garth? Aren’t you suppose to be in an insane asylum? :-D

I knew this was coming. After all, he was Tron.

  3. Can’t have Tron without Tron.
Like Bruce so glad to see him in this.

  4. “Just sit right there, Flynn”..

One of the greatest of movie lines.

Can’t help but wonder if Olivia Wilde, can ‘measure’ up to Cindy Morgan in that outfit though.

I also wonder if they’re gonna sneak ‘Klaatu Barada Nikto’ into the remake like they did in the original.

  5. Great! We love Captain Sher.. Bruce Boxleitner! Uncle Bruce!

  6. thank god

  7. What about Cindy Morgan? Will she also return, or was Caddyshack her swan song?
