Marvel's three-week run at the top spot has come to an end, as female moviegoers put their stamp on this week's box office.

The Other Woman (read our review) is the number 1 movie this weekend with $24.7 million. Fox's female-focused comedy did big numbers in its first week, far exceeding expectations and taking down the reigning box office king. Whether or not The Other Woman can hold up as well as its competition, however, is unclear, but for now The Other Woman is number 1.

Coming in at number 2 is Captain America: The Winter Soldier with $16 million. Although Marvel's latest release lost the top spot after three weeks, it bows out gracefully, having grossed $224 million domestic and $645 million worldwide. It'll be close, but Captain America 2 has a decent chance of unseating The LEGO Movie ($252 million) for the title of highest grossing movie of 2014.

Heaven is for Real is the number 3 film this weekend with $13.8 million. The religious film has been doing great business since opening last weekend and is now up to $51 million.

In at number 4 is Rio 2 with $13.7 million, which brings its local total up to $96 million. While domestic audiences might not be as receptive to Rio 2 as they were to its predecessor, international markets are helping boost the film's tally by a huge margin. Worldwide, Rio 2 has grossed $343 million.

April 27 Box Office - Brick Mansions

Rounding out the top 5 is Brick Mansions (read our review) with $9.6 million. While the opportunity to see Paul Walker's last completed film was certainly a draw, Brick Mansions opened with a lower tally than most of this year's action films. This is also yet another tepid debut for an English-language remake, in this case of the French parkour-focused film District B13.

Transcendence is the number 6 film with $4.1 million. It's nothing but bad news for Johnny Depp's latest blockbuster, which, now at $18 million after two weeks, is on pace to take a huge hit financially. The good news is the film's worldwide gross of $51 million will soften the blow, but not by much.

Coming in at number 7 is The Quiet Ones (read our review) with $4 million. That's dangerously close to Vampire Academy for the lowest opening for a wide release (2,000+ screens) of 2014, which, as you can assume, is not good.

Olivia Cooke in The Quiet Ones

After a big boom in 2013, it seemed like the horror genre was poised to make a killing this year, but that clearly is not the case. Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Oculus, and now this all opened much lower than expected.

The DisneyNature film Bears jumped up to the number 8 spot this weekend with $3.6 million. Now at $11 million, Bears is tracking much lower than DisneyNature's more successful releases (Earth, Chimpanzee), but it should be fine when the dust has settled.

In at number 9 is Divergent with $3.6 million. The young adult adaptation is now up to $139 million domestic and $232 million worldwide.

Rounding out the top 10 is A Haunted House 2 with $3.2 million. The Marlon Wayans' parody sequel took a huge hit in its second weekend, dropping 63%. All told, the film has grossed a paltry $14 million.

Outside the top 10: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues to post strong numbers overseas with $67.2 million over the weekend for an international total of $132 million. The highly anticipated sequel hits North American theaters next weekend.
