    Okay, even if Mr. Montone does pull off a fun & good performance from the Rat, it is STILL a pass for me. I have the comics, I am fine with that.
    Also, out of the Image titles, Youngblood really wasn't that good. WildC.A.T.S was far better, Spawn was the pinnacle, Savage Dragon is much better. In fact, I would love to see a Savage Dragon film than Youngblood.

    Rat, you gets no moolah from me! Take your "edgy and cool vision" and blow it out ya bumhole.

    Youngblood = Liefeld = FAIL.

    Want proof check out the anatomy of Cpt. America here:

    Ugh ...

    Liefeld has a very weird way of drawing characters.
    And he adds in a lot of pockets/pouches, I guess at the time it was something neat.

    "Liefeld has a very weird way of drawing characters."

    Yes ... it's cooled "poorly".

    Not to mention the tiny, tiny, tiny feet.

    AHHHHHHH! Get these Liefeld memories out of my head!
  • @INK... I'll admit that Liefeld's style has seen its day come and go, but it did have its day. Kind of like 80's hairstyles. haha
  • It's not even the source material. Liefeld's Youngblood was cool for it's time. His art work aside, it was a good book. Now Bret Ratner doing the film?! Has anyone seen X-Men 3. Keep him away from comic films.

    I'd go see this out of curiosity if nothing else. It'll be interesting to see how Ratner handles Youngblood. Liefeld did have an interesting premise for the group. Imagine superheroes like celebrities -- TMZ covering Shaft as if he were George Clooney or Paris Hilton. Thats certainly a deviation from the typical superhero movie. It might be fun. The interest in Pattison is understandable. Marketing. Personally, though, I think Savage Dragon would make a much better film -- although harder to pull off...

    Ummm,I think they did that idea already with The Fantastic 4,so no,not original,nor interesting..

    @SK-47

    The only reason why Spawn was so popular was because the artwork was so colorful and vibrant.McFarlane's artwork is good,but for from great and his writing sucked like a Dyson.That's why he brought in a slew of writer from Alan Moore to Chris Claremont,to help fix the crap of a story that he started.

    I hate to admit this,but when Image was formed,that's pretty much all they cared about,the image of the art and not the actual stories,because most of them weren't very good,and they all were pretty much some sort of reflection of what that artist was doing at Marvel beforehand.

    Liefeld was doing X-Force at the time,but was developing a new Teen Titans book for DC,but when that fell through and he and the other creators left Marvel,he made them as Youngblood.
  • I feel sorry for anyone who works with Ratner....even if I hate the actor that played a "vampire" in "Twilight" its still sad for anyone to work with this director.

    Savage Dragon ... movie... Hello? Hollywood? This might be a good idea?

    I have to agree, Image was appropriately named because that was all they cared about. They didn't name their company "Substance" for a reason. WildCATS was good. Savage Dragon was unapologetic in its violence and little dialogue. But that what's made it work. It was not as pretentious as the other titles. I still think Super Patriot was one of their best Mini-series...
  • Giraffehead
    Liefeld's art and design was always so poor, I had no desire to look into his comics (and I'm not sure it ever really had a place, it was just new and people figured he would get better... sadly he never evolved).

    I'm actually a bit shocked that the story sounds somewhat interesting... did he write the story?

    "I still think Super Patriot was one of their best Mini-series…"

    I agree and Dave Johnson's art in the series was incredible.

    I saw this headline and thought "Oh SH*T, they're letting Ratner destroy a great 80's movie!!" Ok, maybe not a GREAT 80's movie, but pretty much better than what Ratner is going to do to ANY comic book movie. Oh dear God, I just hope I didn't give the studios an idea for another remake....

    What!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
  • Giraffehead
    Youngblood was a title of an 80's movie... and great would certainly not be the word for it.

    this may be the end of the comic-book movie genre, Thanks for nothing Liefeld(except Deadpool and Cable)
