twilight saga breaking dawn two movies parts 1 2 Twilight Breaking Dawn Movie: Rated R & Minus Lautner?

Relax, ladies, this was an April Fools joke. icon smile Twilight Breaking Dawn Movie: Rated R & Minus Lautner?

I haven’t spent any time digging into the statistics of what age groups are most attracted to the Twilight movies, but I’m pretty darned sure that a significant percentage are under the age of 17. That being the case, there are going to be either:

1. A ton of unhappy angry, teenage girls who won’t be able to see the final film(s) in the series.

2. A ton of teenage girls who will find a way to get into an R-rated movie.

What am I talking about? Well considering the fact that Breaking Dawn is darker and gorier than the preceding books – it seems that the studio wants to try releasing The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as an R-rated pair of movies.

Seeing as that for Eclipse they hired the director of the very R-rated and very much a horror film 30 Days of Night, it doesn’t surprise me as much as it might. Summit Entertainment may have been testing the waters by hiring a director with that background and it seems they like what they’ve seen of the film. So perhaps they want to continue down that path and see what happens?

Remember that on the potential director list are M. Night Shyamalan, whose The Happening (while not very good) was certainly deserving of an R-rating with its gruesome imagery. Also on the list is Bill Condon, whose past directorial work includes one of the very gory Candyman films. Other directors in the running have also done R-rated films and have not shied away from controversy.

What this means for the box office is completely unknown – it’s a hell of a gamble any way you look at it.

taylor lautner new moon abs Twilight Breaking Dawn Movie: Rated R & Minus Lautner?

In other news, it seems with Taylor Lautner skyrocketing to fame after showing off his six-pack abs in New Moon, he may be considering leaving the franchise before he becomes trapped by typecasting. It seems he does not want to be forever known as Jacob Black (although I don’t know how much of an improvement Stretch Armstrong is).

This is, of course, a huge deal and its not known how the studio will handle this should it come to pass. They certainly couldn’t change the story enough to eliminate Jacob from it (could they?) so they’d have to find a lookalike to replace him. No shortage of ripped young actors walking around LA, but fans have become quite attached to Lautner (to say the least).

No word on who they might consider as a replacement at this time, but click here for a list of possible young actors.

  1. That was a cruel joke…

  2. This is a lie. Cause i’ve seen a video on Youtube of Taylor being interviewed and he will be in breaking Dawn cause they have already made a Trailer and stuff. So Taylor will be in Breaking Dawn at least there will be someone cute in the movie for us to see.

    • Aundrea,

      Two things:

      1. This was an April Fools joke. The VERY FIRST sentence below the header image says so.

      2. You’re banned.

    • exactly he has to be in it…

  3. Lol I will always find a way to see that film. No matter the age or what, I will find a way to see it.

  4. omg! you made me almost cry1 but ur right i’m 15 and i WILL find my way into that movie theatre (if it is rated R )

    • im too and hope its a 15 but it wont stop me from trying to see it ;)

    • Twilight Breaking Dawn will not be rated R it will be either M or MA. Whoever said that it was R is dumb.

  5. I 21 years old and ive been with twilight saga since i was 17 and i would be very very disappointed if the breaking dawn movie WASNT rated R!!! It will ruin the suspense and excitement that breaking dawn the book brings to twilight!! All the emotions thats in the book that it brings to fans will be disappointing if its not in the movie!!!

  6. i was wornding why jacob wanna marry bella’s baby

  7. I think that twilight breaking dawn should be rated M because all of the fans will be able to see the last movie and because if they rate it R all of the young twilight fans will have to wait until there like 20 to see it and it won’t be in the movie by the time there 20!
Also no matter what they can’t erase or replace Taylor lautner from the movie because it will just reck the whole movie and there’s no one that can get the same looks as Taylor lautner!
I hope who ever reads this will understand and make sure that none of these things will happen because if Taylor lautner goes out of the movie and if the fans cant see it then basically not that many movie tickets are gonna sell because twilight might not have expected the movies would be targeted at teenaged but basically twilight is only viewed by teenaged!!
    Please reply!!

  8. I read the Twilight books in high school and now with the fan base it has, I almost want to be done with it but the fact that I was dedicated to it before all this happened still makes want to finish seeing the movies. The fact that it’s NOT going to be rated R is disappointing. If you’re reading books that would even consider being made into something rated R at least it’s to yourself, but going to go see it portrayed on a screen is a little much. I like seeing R rated movies cause it guarantees there won’t be annoying girls in the theater giggling and talking. Now we get to see a movie about sex and pregnancy with a bunch of girls who aren’t emotionally mature enough for it yet.

    • If you don’t want a bunch of girls giggling through the movie either go in gold class or don’t see the movie at all. Because i read the books when i was in year 5 and i thought they were awesome. I personally think it doesn’t matter because all the young Twilight fans just have to go see it with their parents and it’s not like your gonna have to sit with them, thats only if its rated MA or R. Peeps chillax

  9. Guys, relax. It’s been rated PG-13. ;)

  10. HaHa I clicked on the link<3 FUNNY!

  11. i think that all fan should be able to watch breaking dawn, because we all get to watch twilight then new moon, but then they bring out a rated R movie. it is not fair to the fans under the age of 16.
