‘Breaking Bad’ Season 5 Will Air in 2012 & 2013

1 year ago by Scott Stoute

Breaking Bad Season 5 Split TV Breaking Bad Season 5 Will Air in 2012 & 2013

Check Out: ‘Breaking Bad’ Season 5 Poster – Will Jesse Dethrone Walter?

AMC has decided to split the fifth and final season of its award-winning meth drama Breaking Bad into two parts, according to star Bryan Cranston.

In a recent interview Cranston announced the news of how the new 16-episode season 5 will be set up; “We’re splitting it. We’re going to shoot the first eight, then take a four-month production break, then the rest will air next year.”

While the network has not officially declared a premiere date for Breaking Bad’s return, some of the show’s actors let it slip via Twitter that we can expect the saga of Walter White to continue in July. In regards to the much-anticipated season opener, Cranston had this to say;

We pick up right where we left off,’’ Cranston goes on to add “We’re cleaning up the pieces from last season’s huge ordeal where Gus Fring was forced to meet his maker. It’s not as easy as Walter thought. And as we’ve discovered over the years, you don’t really know who Walter White is. I’m still discovering who he is and I’m trying to allow myself to be open to him going darker and darker. There’s physical danger to himself and his family, plus there’s the emotional danger due to his anger and hubris. It’s about the evil that men do and where that takes him.

Breaking Bad Season 5 Split TV 2 Breaking Bad Season 5 Will Air in 2012 & 2013

Cranston is also expected to direct the ninth episode of Breaking Bad‘s final season, which will be the midseason opener in 2013. Cranston will dip back into comedy, in a manner of speaking, by directing the upcoming April 11th episode of ABC’s Modern Family.

A studio spokesperson has stated that the splitting of the fifth season is just one option being considered – but by the looks of it, this is more of an actual plan than something being considered.  AMC splitting up a season is nothing new, as the network has done so already with the three-month division of  season 2 of The Walking Dead. Then again,  a whole yearlong wait between halves may be a bit to excessive.

If the shows actors are correct, expect to see the fifth and final season of Breaking Bad  season 5 premiere this July.

This show is awesome minus the stupid love scenes and half the show talking is not creative and just wastes our time there is so much to show about drugs and money and skyler and Walt will argue about nothing for 20 out of the 45 minute show extremely sad dialogue but the rest of the show is really good just quit with the emotional bs we all have that and wanna see more creative aspects and whoever puts this much of a gap between episodes is a idiot plain and simple I already forgot what happened last season and don’t wanna watch it agian I know a lot of the show has real aspects and bieng somone who has actually smoked meth and liked it and sold drugs the show is pretty honest in that aspect just don’t waste our time fools :)

The dialogue such as Skyler and Walt fighting is a vital part of this show! Watching it right from the beginning, the way they interact with each other is so important! It shows how his drug dealing changed his whole perception on everything and how it changed his whole life. If that wasn’t there the whole show would be nothing but deals back and forth and killing. Their dialogue is there to show you how much Walt really has changed since he got into the business.

walt and skylar have to show emotion as a couple bc the whole show is based around walters decisions and how everyone around him is affected. and the people who r affected the most are his family. i would never change a thing about this show and if the producers lisrened to u it would have been canceled b4 season 1 was finished.

no one cares if you smoked meth… teeth rotting out of your skull yet? Thats most likely why you can’t complete a cohesive thought. Also why you sir are not the writter/director/producer of this or any other show.@ Benino

AMC’s half seasons are horse s***. Really ready to give up on all their shows. Even walking dead.

Really, I know they need to take time to film, but these huge gaps between seasons make me want to quit watching too.. corporate execs are lame.

Some previous comments on here are baffling. The show is nothing but 99.2% pure glass and written by a genius. I loved Mr Cranston in Malcolm in the Middle but after watching every Breaking Bad episode religiously i have to put him on the same pedestal as De Niro, Pacino and Washington. Now i’m not just pin pointing Cranston for his poetic acting because the rest of the cast couldn’t have given anymore and i salute all of them.. If the director/Writer ever see this post please never give up on this show and keep it going for another 50 years.

PLEASE ! ! ! ! ! Keep this show running . ! This is one of the MOST FANTASTIC shows on present day television.. WHt I ask..WHY ? Would the creators of such a show want to take it off the Air?..Look at Star Trek….This show should last just as long …..If not Looooonger ! ! ! !

I totally agree with Emmilah – the show’s not about meth, it’s about the evil depths a man will sink to under the certain circumstances. Jesse doesn’t sink as low, neither do most other characters – their actions are “justified” in some measure and make sense in their world, but Walt’s are a result of his pure madness and irrational, hotheaded, reactionary nature – like killing Mike !?! and only a few minutes later realising he didn’t need to act that way ! I mean, wow ! how screwed up was that scene?
I’m loving Breaking Bad – keep going guys, and I can’t wait till we get the next episodes down under here in Australia.

WTF! I looked online to see when Breaking Bad was going to resume season 5 because I couldn’t find it in my Tivo guide and now instead of returning in January they’re saying July. Breaking Bad is the best show on T.V. in my opinion! Can’t wait to see what twists the rest of season 5 holds in July! Will definitely be sad to see this show go.

Will China find out about the diluted methylene? What’s to become of the rival dealers? The big Question how is brother in law gonna play his new found revelation W.W. “you got Me”. Vamanos bug zappers? Gus is a prince with a brother retaliation? How will Saul get them out of this one legally? Will Aaron Paul find out Walt poisoned the little boy/ and killed Mike? Will Walt and the family assume new Identities and disappear to Italy? Will Walt Make it to Canada before a “blaze of glory shoot out”? Will the waitress say something wrong to the wrong person? Is Walt. Jr. Hooked dads highly potent product? Will Skyler’s I.R.S./ boss problem come to haunt her? The spider little boys parents looking for missing son? Blonde guy loose canon Jesse has a soft spot for kids he will probably kill that guy for principle ? Walt has become darker and darker put nothing past him. Jesse has swung full circle and has become a way better person. It sucks we have to wait so long to see the other half of the “finally” but I heard rumors of the Big Screen series which would be epic. I have seen every episode at least 4 times a piece I am a huge fan By far the best show on television ever. I also like that bit on the Simpsons “Breaking Bad is the best show ever I must tell all my friends” awesome.

The Last season was AWESOME! I wish Mike would not have been written out though. The look on Hank’s face when he discovered who the other W.W. was is PRICELESS!! You can see him putting the pieces together. I just hope he remains cool and gets out of that house in one piece. Walt will kill anyone as we have seen.

Does anyone know where or when we can watch the first half of season 5. Just my luck. I missed out when Dish Network and AMC had a falling out. Thanks

Fast Eddie, the first 8 episodes of Breaking Bad are available at Amazon for $1.99 each. The last 8 will start on AMC in July. Or you can just wait until the excitement is over and see it on Netflix eventually. I haven’t found it free anywhere. It was available ON Demand from Comcast but I haven’t seen anything about it recently.
