blah, ROuth is just desperate to get his career goin because of the massive failure that was SUperman Returns….I dont see this guy ever making big in holywood, but i can see him in smaller roles…as for the movie, 10 mill pl pay monthly fees to play this game, ubsurd…I hope the movie bombs

morphanite says:

That’s a lot of hate in one comment. I personally liked Superman Returns and have enjoyed Routh’s roles. Considering his limited acting experience I would almost say I’m impressed with him.

All that aside, a movie that already has a fan base of 10 million subscribers is a great idea. I hate WoW as much as the next guy, but I do love my fantasy movies. Seeing how Blizzard is known for polished quality products, I hope this translates to the film. I am excited for this one!

Phil G says:

Would be cool to have Routh on board for this one. He did a very admirable job imitating Christopher Reeve’s character with a lot of respect, while making the role his own. It wasn’t his fault whatsoever that Superman Returns did not do as well as it did. People just weren’t fond of the script and story.

And he does have the face and size to be a believable and good character in WoW. I would say he even has the face and eyes to be a Night Elf something.

Josh R says:

Any one else feel they should just call this movie “Warcraft” and drop the “World of?”

WoW obviously has a built-in fanbase, but it also has a lot of haters. If the film is just called Warcraft (even if the film itself is based completely on World of), it might be able to draw in a larger audience, especially from guys like myself who really got into Warcraft II but haven’t been a fan of the franchise since III.

TheWatcher says:

I’d love to see Routh in this! He has a very heroic look (duh), it’s a big guy, and has the acting chops. And I like fantasy movies!

No Name Face says:

would he play as Arthas????

Very Simillar Nose…

Star says:

As a big fan of Brandon, I hope he gets a role in this movie. Good luck, Brandon!

Rob Keyes says:

@ No Name Face,

There’s rumors online that David Wenham (Faramir from Lord of the Rings, Dilios from 300) is in the running for Arthas – I love that guy and although it seems unsubstantiated, it’d be a great pick in my eyes.

Sam says:

Blah @ Tasouli
Routh’s desparate heh, before blowing your mouth off with immature fanboy hatefest, he has 2 upcoming movies coming out and another with Samauel L. Jackson waiting for release, sounds like he doing alright to me. The man jacked like a beast now, he didn’t get a chance to sink his teeth into Superman Returns, this will make up for it.

Merus says:

Routh’s already appearing in a game-inspired movie, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, as a bass player with magic vegan powers. (It’s that sort of movie.) If the movie does well, and he does well in it, it’d be an excellent thing to have on his resume for when Legendary start casting.

Doom3524 says:

@ Rob –

Wenham as Arthas is a very good choice. Where did you hear that one?

aion kina says:

Whoa! That’s cool. I liked his role as Superman and for him to be part of Warcraft, why not? He seems to have a great potential to play the heroes in WoW. I bet it’s just not him who wants to be part of WoW movie. I wonder if ever other online games like Aion Online or Perfect World will be in the big screen, would he volunteer himself too?

Rob Keyes says:

@ Doom3524,

Actually, he’s listed as a rumour on IMDB (which is usually meaningless) but I’ve heard talk of it on a few websites here and there for a while – probably originated just from fans.

That guys is a star in my mind though so I’m all for it ;)

Samuel Hestilow says:

I say he would be a great Illidan if they could get him into the screenplay, illidan is a really great and complex character…thirst for power, contempt towards his brother, loves tyrande, not a completely bad guy. They would have to figure a way out to keep him around since players kill him in BT.
