Rumors for the upcoming A-Team action film have been running rampant recently with speculation that Common (who’s in this week’s Terminator Salvation) is in talks to play the role made famous by Mr. T, B.A. Baracus, and Chris Pine as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck but instead wanting to play the crazy Capt. H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock.
Enter Bradley Cooper.

Bradley Cooper is an actor I love in everything he’s been in, from the Alias TV show to many supporting roles in big movies, might be a part of The A-Team now. You’ve probably seen his name floating around quite a bit recently with his upcoming comedy The Hangover set to open this summer and speculation that he is one of the lead candidates to play Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern movie.
Just a few hours ago, IESB reported exclusively that Bradley Cooper will be playing Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck in The A-Team.
What’s interesting is how they found this information out. Apparently, they had heard a rumor that he was in the running for the role a few weeks ago but had no confirmed source to run the story. Now, at the press junket for The Hangover this weekend in Vegas, IESB reporter Chris Goodson spoke with Cooper one-on-one in one of the hallways (with “a smuggled tape recorder”) and asked him directly if he was excited about playing the role in the movie, pretending as if it were officially announced already.
A surprised and unknowing Cooper replied:
“That’s out already!?”
Followed by laughter, where he then continued:
“Wow. Yeah…its Joe Carnahan’s. It’s very interesting. It’ll be cool. It will be cool see what…He’ll make a great movie out of it.”
It’s not officially confirmed yet but when he hear something, we’ll let you know.
As for the movie, the possible cast members we think are shoe-ins so far are awesome as well as the rumored candidates. I think this movie will make for a great action flick.
In the TV series, the role of Face was played by Dirk Benedict who you may also know for playing Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica series. Cooper seems to me like a great choice to play the role, especially with his resemblence when he’s supporting his longer hair.

I think B.A. Baracus should be played by Micheal Clark Duncan
One of the greatest and funniest series of all time. B.A, Hannibal, Murdock, Face, they’re iconic. The movie’s gonna be something different. It’s hard to make a funny action movie, which it should be, and I hope they pull it off. Bradley’s sure a great choice for Face though. I agree B.A. should be played by Michael Clark Duncan, Murdock’s a tricky one. Jim Carrey obviously would be perfect. And Hannibal, that should be Eric Roberts. After seeing him in The Dark Knight, and in Heroes, he’s the man with the plan/grin.
What’s with all this Bradley Cooper poo!!! Does his agent have compromising Grecophile photos of every casting director in hollywood?? Prob so. Clooney as Hannibal, Katie Sack as Face, Jim Carrey or Dwight Shultz(dude looks about the same as he did 15 years ago so why not!!) and Mr. T (all he needs are some of Daniel Craig, Gerard Butler, Bale in Batman Begins and other actors who mysteriously put on 30 lbs of muscles and get thicker veiny necks before a big action film, special naughty vitamins and voilla old school Hulkster muscles like he had back in the day!!! why not all those other actors are definately on funny vitamins too!!!
If not T then Kimbo could step right in, but no hollywood feels the need to ensure every role goes to a pretty, safer more marketable face. First they wanted Tyreese the Model now Common the handsome Hip Hop dude. Everything has to be prettier, shiner, and well no offence but gayer!!!
Um, Michael Clark Duncan for B.A.? Why because he’s a big black guy? He wouldn’t be a good fit for the role in my opinion. B.A. in the original series was a scary guy, very intimidating. While MCD has the strength thing down, I believe he is lacking in the intimidation department (remember Daredevil anyone?).
While I’m not sure either if Common can pull it off (he would have to hit the gym bigtime), his acting has come a long way from his first films. I can actually see him in the role with adequate preparation time (i.e. kickass trainer and acting coaches) and a solid mohawk to go with it.)
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Christopher Judge as B.A.
NO Jim Carrey as Murdock. I like Jim, but this would be like him taking the Riddler role all over again.
