The DCEU and The Boys collide in this new fan art that turns Chase Crawford's the Deep into Aquaman. Based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys depicts a world where superheroes are celebrities, and they aren't always the good guys. In particular, top superteam the Seven is full of corrupt figures and is backed by a corporation with literal Nazi roots. Amusingly, the Seven also echoes another famous superhero team: DC's Justice League. Leader Homelander is Superman, Queen Maeve fits Wonder Woman's role, and aquatic aficionado the Deep is definitely, undoubtedly Aquaman.

The most recent season of The Boys saw the Deep hit rock bottom. After sexually harassing new Seven member Starlight in season 1, the Deep was quietly exiled from the Seven. Despite his best efforts to rehabilitate himself, he struggled with his self-worth, which led to a rather shocking and memorable conversation with his very own gills (which were voiced by Patton Oswalt). The Deep's season 2 journey eventually led him to a Scientology-esque organization known as the Church of the Collective, something he viewed as his ticket back to the Seven.

With the Seven members so obviously emulating well-known superheroes, it's fun to imagine the two somehow coming together. Recent pieces of fan art have turned Homelander into a variety of heroes, and now it's the Deep's turn. Popular graphic artist BossLogic has transformed the Deep into Aquaman, scaled suit and all. Fans of The Boys will also get a kick out of seeing his doomed dolphin friend accompanying him in the background. Check out the piece below.

The Boys Deep Aquaman Fan Art

The Boys season 2 found many opportunities to skewer current superhero culture, from mocking Avengers: Endgame's girl power moment to poking fun at Joss Whedon's Justice League reshoots. At a time when superheroes are invading just about every entertainment space, The Boys has provided a more unique and cynical take on the genre that many have found to be refreshing. Having the Seven essentially be the Justice League only makes The Boys more fun.

The Boys season 2 ended with the Deep being denied re-entry into the Seven, which leaves him in an interesting spot for season 3. With the Deep officially turning his sights on the Church of the Collective, it looks like he's out to finally get what he wants. Whether he actually succeeds remains to be seen, but fans are likely very excited to find out, especially if he arms himself with another aquatic animal. Here's hoping they just manage to live past a single episode.
