I really hope this movie at least tones down the shaky cam, though I’d prefer they outright ditch it. The movies have gotten progressively worse in terms of camera work. There’s simply no reason for shaky cam in 90% of the third film. I can almost excuse it in action scenes, but when two people are talking and the camera man is obscuring half the guy’s face with the back of a head while simultaneously jerking around to zoom in on random things it is just out right distracting. I can’t pay attention to the dialogue, all I can do is imagine this cameraman trying to act like a sneak, hiding behind the actors.

Some one should create a petition for no more shaky cam in the 4th, and in fact no more shaky cam period.

It is very possible to shoot a fight scene where it is clearly visible what is happening and still have it be very exciting without shaky cam and quick cuts. To me shaky cam and quick cuts is just lazy directing and usually done to disguise an actor’s lack of ability to do convincing martial arts.

Don’t know how I feel about another Bourne movie. I liked all three and it’s certainly been a good series of action flicks with an above average story.

Looks like Bourne has become what they wanted Flint to be: an American James Bond. I’m with Kamakazi; I’d like to see Bourne go toe-to-toe with someone as good as him, like Moriarty is with Holmes.

Is it me or does anyone else think of the marianette movie Team America: World Police anytime Matt Damon’s name is shown or spoken?

I would be happy if they brought Doug Liman back, shaky-cam just sucks! It was different in Supremacy in terms of style I will admit that, but then I hated it. I actually fell asleep in Ultimatum in the theatre (could be from a night shift work or lack of rest from the day, or whatever) but the shaky cam did not work for me. It was reminiscent to Tony Scott with Domino. The style worked fine in Man on Fire but when he went overload in Domino, it was too much. Same with this.

Taylor has a good point, different stories, actors, directors, etc. I can see Guy Pearce as Bourne.

Is it me or does Damon look exactly like Kurt Angle in that pic above?

i truly believe that the Bourne series could very well be the world’s next bond series, not tacked down to one main actor or director, and could be a series that blends into future generations. what matt damon and company have created here could, and in my opinion should, continue to live on and expand in the future.

OMG! What is it with people and the shaky cam? As long as Greengrass is attached, there will be “shaky cam.” It’s not that bad, and I love it. It shows the true chaos of a fight. It’s been in two films, if you don’t like it, then you’ll have to deal with it and stop the whining. Please, just stop.

They can adapt the non-Ludlum books if they want to;
they can work on a totally different and new story/script if they want to;
they can take stuff out from past books that didn’t make past films if they want to.

JUST NO MORE SHAKY CAMERA!!!! PLEASE!!!!

I’m all for it, is it me or do Production Companies have an obsession with South America, 1st we hear Fast and Furious 5 will be in Brazil, now the Producer wants to see Bourne in South America, oh well, it’ll still be a bad ass movie like the other 3 are.

It isn’t like they heavily based the movies off the books anyway. Anyone who has read the books and has seen the movies knows that they are very VERY loosely based off the books sharing very little beyond amnesia and a few names.

I would really like to see them draw heavily upon the second book and follow it. If my memory is correct it involves Bourne going after an assassin that is impersonating him in Asia. It would be nice to see Bourne go up against somebody of his own caliber in the movies, an assassin that can handle him in hand-to-hand etc.
