The love between Marvel and DC continues with DCEU head honcho Geoff Johns professing his love for the recently released teaser trailer for Black Panther. Over the course of the last few weeks, notable people from both camps have exchanged good-natured jibes and genuine compliments for each other. And Johns singing high praises for the Ryan Coogler film only further proves that there is no bad blood between the two competitors, despite the drama some fans try to inject.

Following the massive success of Wonder Woman, a lot of Marvel personalities have come forward and celebrated star Gal Gadot, director Patty Jenkins and the whole of DCEU for the all the accolades that the film very well deserves. Now, with the release of the much anticipated first look on Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, it is DC's chance to reciprocate, starting with Johns, who is also DC's President and CCO as well as a key personality in the DCEU as he co-manages the shared cinematic universe with fellow producer Jon Berg.

Johns shared his sentiments via his official Twitter account calling the teaser trailer looking "unreal." He even added that Black Panther was one of his favorite characters to write about during his stint in Marvel. In the early 2000s, Johns actually worked in Marvel's comic division, writing for some well-known properties like the The Avengers from issue #57 to 76 before he eventually moved to DC comics where he's produced his most famous work.

This looks unreal. Panther was one of my favorite characters to write when I was @Marvel @chadwickboseman https://t.co/pxgrTPeNxU— Geoff Johns (@geoffjohns) June 10, 2017

Aside from Johns, many Marvel personalities have also sent Black Panther some love including directors Peyton Reed, Taika Waititi and Scott Derrickson (Ant-Man, Thor: Ragnarok and Doctor Strange respectively). Avengers director and interim Justice League director (and future Batgirl writer/director), Joss Whedon, also came out and applauded the film's teaser trailer.

I. Cannot. Wait. For. This. Go, Coogler. #BlackPanther https://t.co/Go4mKpl3tK— Peyton Reed (@MrPeytonReed) June 10, 2017

Marvel and DC have long been tagged as rivals in the comic book industry. And it is no secret that since the re-emergence of the superhero film genre and shared cinematic universes over the last couple of years there has been a lot of friction between the companies' fandoms. But it is great to see that folks who are actually involved with the organizations have nothing but respect and admiration for each other. It was even revealed recently that both companies look to Superman: The Movie as a major source of inspiration. After all, regardless of their affiliations, they still all work in the same filmmaking business.

There is a lot to be excited about Black Panther - from its impressive roster of cast members to the unexplored world of Wakanda. The film ticks all the boxes in terms of what works in the superhero film genre and even offers more with nods of political undertones. Needless to say, it opens up a lot of possibilities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. If anything, the fact that the teaser trailer has left fans, and even DC's very own Johns, more hyped up for the film means that it was able to effectively do what a teaser trailer is supposed to do.
